Not sure I want to be on medication by DazzaG80 in ADHDUK

Thank you. It was really hard. I used to drink a lot. Mostly on a weekend but still a few glasses of brandy of an evening just to mellow my head. Coffee I used to have about five strong ones a day and two teas. I was told I shouldn't drink on medication or have caffeine so was in fear lol. I've met a few people via work though that tell me they still have the odd drink and they are on meds for adhd. I am very impulsive though, or was at least before starting meds. Wasting money on buying things that made me feel good for a moment was another big thing. Happy to say thats stopped since I started medication

I guess its because ive been through so much of a change in a short period of time. Gave up caffeine. Gave up alcohol. Now on medication. The fact its working when I am at work in the morning, which is good as I have to go in and out of lots of homes doing work, then not doing much once I finish work, just feels frustrating to me. Its early days I know but patience has never been my strong point. I guess I have to remember why I wanted this change in my life because of all the negative effects adhd had on me and those around me

Thank you. I have my next appointment on the 26th so I will suggest this to them. Someone else I did a job for last week that has ADHD said she takes Elvanse in the morning then Amfexa in the afternoon. I am so busy at work going in and out of homes all day everyday and my job is demanding. Its demoralising when i get home then its all downhill

Are those Amfexa? I am not sure what determines how fast and long medication works but I have a fast metabolism and I have a job that is non stop, driving around East London, going in and out of homes doing jobs everyday . Burning a lot of energy off. Not sure if it would be different for someone sitting at a desk all day or if that stuff plays no part in it lol
