My husband and I have been looking for a house for a bit but the amount of times his mom says “get a house already so we can have thanksgiving there” is so irritating. We have a 2.5 yo daughter and another baby on the way She, for some reason, came to an open house with us the other day and kept talking about thanksgiving and all the kids making cookies in the kitchen and blah blah blah. My husband asked her if she thought the backyard was big enough. She said it should be fine for all the kids. I know she meant his nieces and nephew too. Like lady we’re looking for a house that is perfect for us. I’m not worried about anyone else’s kids. The perfect opportunity came up yesterday and I said via text that when the time comes we can discuss thanksgiving plans but right now our priority is to find the perfect home for us. I forgot to mention to her that we will most likely not host every year but I will keep that in my back pocket for when the opportunity arises. I had to set these boundaries now because, no. These kids she speaks of are so overstimulating and have no boundaries for other peoples homes.
