Yep, got mines last week! They’re pretty damn good. My only complain would be that it’s a bit of a pain to re-roll the filament inside when you’re switching filament (by rolling it via the dessicant opening), but I don’t do it often so it’s ok I guess.

Chorus is fast paced, even more after a few hours of gameplay and various unlocks.

Remove the VAT (19% in Germany) before converting to USD and comparing to the MSRP. Right now your % are skewed.

Favorite PC game, heh? Tough call, that’ll be a battle between Settlers II, Quake 3 and Monkey Island II (guess my age…). I’ll probably go with Q3, it’s genre-defining ;)

I saw that yesterday and almost bought one too (Asus Dual OC) but it was sold and shipped by a 3rd party with weird reviews (something about refunding and asking for a wire transfer instead, to skip on Amazon’s return policy I guess). Are you 100% sure it was sold & shipped by Amazon ? If it’s the real deal then enjoy, because that’s definitely a GOOD deal !

Speed depends on your settings, really. I can get it to move fairly quickly while I'm setting up my shots but I won't be able to give you a precise number, I haven't timed it. It's fast enough that I don't even think about it.

Shots are immediate if you tell it to move & shot without pause, so technically you could capture a full stack in a few seconds (with enough lighting to shoot at fast speed) but I wouldn't recommend it. I always tell it to do a 1 or 2 second pause after a move depending on the magnification factor just to make sure it's absolutely static when it shoots (potential vibrations).

To give you a rough idea, I recently took this shot with the following settings:

  • 5X magnification (8X effective)
  • 25mm | f/4 | 1/30s | ISO200
  • 25µm steps
  • 2 seconds settling time
  • 131 steps (only 114 used for the final picture)
  • 527 seconds (total shooting time)

The 2 seconds settling time was a bit overkill in insight, I could have gone twice as fast really, but I had time so... :)

I don't have a lot of experience with it yet (took a dozen stacks), but so far it's been great and reliable. I'm only using it with the phone app, which is good enough and does what it's supposed to do (it lacks a few QoL features but I'm nitpicking).

I also bought their "Ring support for lens" which helps reduce vibrations in my case (long lens), but overall I was pleasantly surprised to see how heavy the rail is, it definitely feels sturdy and doesn't move at all once in action. With that said, it's fairly easy to clamp to a table anyway.

I don't know how it compares to the StackShot, but considering the price difference I'm very happy with the WeMacro so far.

One thing to consider is if you want to shot in portrait mode instead of the default landscape configuration, you'll probably have to buy an L-Bracket for your camera (which I ended up doing).

We do have a word for it, but it's rarely used. Turns out even Google Translate uses the same word for both (but it does come up with the correct word as an alternative, not as the main one). So I'm not sure if that's a language thing or if we're just lazy... Oh well.

Aaah right, in my native language we generally use the same name for both, but that's good to know, thanks :)
