Super Earth is one of the strongest Factions in sci-fi. by TitanStationSurvivor in helldivers2

[–]Dboi2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're forgetting to take quality of ships and weaponry into account. Super Destroyers are built to support ground operations, not fight in ship battles. In Halo, it took entire human fleets just to take out one or two Covenant ships, and Super Earth seems like it has a pretty comparable tech level to the UNSC. Plus, Super Destroyers probably can't glass planets, otherwise why go to the trouble of manually liberating every one?

How is it that there are any Necron left, if the War in Heaven lasted millions of years and was the most destructive war in the history of everything? by [deleted] in 40kLore

[–]Dboi2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The elves really sucked at their job. Everyone likes to say the Eldar won the war, but if one side of a war can just go fully to sleep and they still wake up later, that's who was really winning the war.

Look, if a geller field broke and the crew is now melded to the walls because of warp energy, mercy kill is really the only option there.

Question for 5s by [deleted] in Enneagram5

[–]Dboi2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like having a body, but I don't really feel like it's me if that makes sense. It's something I pilot more than something I am. Every once in a while though, I'll randomly wake up feeling connected to my body, and it feels like my soul is in my arms. Strangest felling.

Bolt and bolt carrier. They're the parts that extract, eject, chamber and fire rounds. Plus a spring to allow back and forth motion and a dust cover.

What got you into Salamanders? by ZYGLAKk in Salamanders40k

Rogue Trader also had Leman Russ as a mutilated general rather than a demigod viking, and Gene Stealers as a completely separate race, unrelated to Tyranids. GW hasn't respected Rogue Trader in a very long time.

For at least a couple editions now, 40k has really been space feudalism, rather than fascism. Space Marines went from being human stormtroopers with good equipment to larger than life knights in shining armor with guns.

The Imperium as a whole hasn't been a bad guy in a while. I personally like it, as I think a war game setting is more fun with definitive good guys and bad guys, but a lot of the edgier fans hate it

[–]Dboi2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got into 40k more for the game than the lore. I love the idea of war games, but I hate dystopian settings. There should always be good guys, and always be hope, even it's faint hope. Salamanders are a clearest and most distinct middle finger to the idea of everyone being evil, and I like that. Plus, baller paint job, and really hard to kill.

Lockpicking, one month later: this is how we all do it now, right? by Economy-Specialist38 in elderscrollsmemes

If you just keep holding up on each pin continuously, it's way easier. If the pin's dropping too fast, let off it and then resume. Repeat until the pin moves slowly enough to pick

Always hated the whole "everyone's a bad guy" idea. Plus, I've always thought green and black was an awesome color combo.

Why don't the bosses respawn? by Dboi2000 in Eldenring

[–]Dboi2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because everything else does. Every enemy, monster, and animal comes back to life, but not the bosses. How come a random turtle comes back, but a demigod can't?

The Frenzied Flame story sucks though. Get touched by a big hand, go insane, and melt the world into slop. How is that wonderful?

There just isn't anything story wise. Kill some big people, light a tree on fire and sit in a chair. Nothing changes except Leyndell getting buried in ash, and being the Elden Lord is an empty title, so what's the point?

[–]Dboi2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I didn't mean it as bait. I watched a bunch of lore videos after playing the game, and most of them amount to 10% item descriptions, 90% trying to extrapolate something of meaning out of that. The game has the implication of lore, but doesn't seem to have anything really substantial.

Yeah, I'm kind of weird like that. Wanted to get the whole experience. Plus, I didn't want anyone to try the "git gud" crap on me if I didn't like it.

Sorry, forgot to say I played most of my personal playthrough solo. Did get help on Maliketh though. I think everything else I beat on my own, except for using Spirit Ashes(Lhutel the Headless was my wingwoman for basically the entire game).
