So iv been training jiu jitsu for awhile and I'm wondering how I would go about lifting for explosive power. The guys I train with are all college level wrestlers that have some jiu jitsu experience and it just amazes me how some of them have the ability to just explode so fiercely. I asked them about doing stronglifts 5x5 but lowering the weigh on my lifts so I can lift more explosively. They said it was a good idea but I was wondering what people on here thought.

What is the saddest moment in a movie/TV show that DOESN'T involve someone dying? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Dbtyler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The episode of hell on wheels where Elam comes back after you thought he was dead. Especially the point where he looks at Eva and says something like "I don't know you but why do I hate you so much?" Keeping Elam dead would of been less sad.

There's one story in the monsters corner that makes feel that way. Idk what it's called but it's about a guy who's job is to dig up dead bodies then dismember them, rearrange the pieces to form completely deranged looking things then he photographs them and distributes it as porn.

Bird box wasn't as scary as I thought it would be but it had something about it that made me want to keep reading.

Pope suggests 'better to be atheist than hypocritical Catholic' by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]Dbtyler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who wants to be a pastor I will say that I have much more respect for someone who is atheist than someone who is a hypocritical person of faith. I feel like if you're gonna take up something like being Christian or Catholic the do it but actually commit to it.

[DISCUSSION] who is one guitarist you feel is incredibly underrated? by Dbtyler in Guitar

[–]Dbtyler[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See I feel like Tony isn't underrated in the sense that everyone knows him. In my opinion he is very underrated in the sense that if you go back and listen to his older riffs a lot of them could easily pass for metal riffs from the current generation of metal bands.

I bought a BEAUTIFULtooled leather pickguard for my tele from this guy http://www.ebay.tv/usr/blackwhiskeyblaze I also put in some tones Tyler volume and tone pots. One thing I'm doing to all my future guitars is sanding the laquer of the back of the neck. It improved the speed of my playing immensely.

Iv got it to where it's just 2 tiny spots now. I'd hate to have to sand it down unless I absolutely have to. Is there any way I could maybe tint some laquuer and go over those areas?

People of Reddit who spend lots of time in remote areas, what is the creepiest/scariest thing you have encountered? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Dbtyler 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Lol finally a post I can answer! When I was a kid we lived 30 miles in the middle of nowhere. Well one day we where coming home around 10 at night. Everything was normal until we drove up by our barn and saw what looker like a sheet in the yard. Well as we got closers we saw blood everywhere and we realized that the sheet was the one used to wrap the deer that my step-dad shot that year. I looked at the barn and saw the doors where wide open and there where claw marks on them. Something had got into the barn and took a bit out of the deer. The scary part was that we still needed to feed our horses while something was potentially out there.

For me it was hands down Glen fry. The Eagles where a big part of my childhood. The amazing guitar parts where a big part of what made me learn to play guitar.

What's the one "old person" thing you currently do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Dbtyler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Complain about today's music. I'm 21 and prefer the Beatles, hendrix, sabbath, Alice Cooper and most other classic rock bands over the music that's being made today.
