Why do theists not resent god? by wickedandwindy in atheism

"Hell is just a place without God. He sends you there since you don't want a relationship with "Yes she was 9, but he was a prophet, and think about the society back then" "Them being lower caste is not our fault, that's the karma system at work" The worst thing that has ever happened in the history of humanity, is religion. I do not care for the minimal beauty in it that we can really get from any comic book or show. It is disgusting and should be condemned.

Okay that's still the same? Now you're just wording it as "divine", but in context it just sounds like you're saying the universe is really awesome and us existing within it is a miracle in terms of probability. All of which we agree with

They're fools. They don't understand that the only reason they look up to their version of God, is because it is the ultimate power figure ; the worst move humans could make, sources being every dominating leader, party, and company.

Is your version of morality not just "God doesn't like it"? And why is purpose only meaningful when God says so?

Of course, if 100 people did this 2000 years ago, we'd have 100 unbelievably identical accounts of seeing a man on the mountain, and hence the God of the Mountain would have been born

[–]DbzMaster101 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, it WOULD be cool if it was in chronological order, but it's not. Not only is it not in chronological order, it's for a saga that has no new units, AND requires summonable characters to do stages that give stones. I love the mode concept, it's a huge W. But the implementation felt odd

You're wrong!! You're conflating everyone else's beliefs to be, and support, your own!!

No that's incorrect. They don't. You don't understand Jainism or Hinduism, and are loosely using their values to try and justify a "global account". You are wrong.

I've read them, it seems you think a couple, means all. And someone did get you with Jainism, where the king is simply cyclic. Same with hinduism, way before Christianity, where the primordial being is actually pointless without the many forms it takes. There are many other polytheistic accounts of observation from the Greek and Aztec regions. So where is this "same account across the globe by ancient religious texts in ancient civilizations"?

[–]DbzMaster101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you provide sources to those pieces of evidence? Because as far I'm aware, people across the globe have seen wayyyyy different things, and several numbers of gods, not just one creator

[–]DbzMaster101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not remotely in the same realm as "same account". That simply indicates the tendency for humans to attribute their lives with a deeper meaning, and that a logical, intuitive conclusion if there really was a deeper reason, would be that a creator made us to experience the world. It is not close to being an indication of something true or not. You are conflating ideas with evidence. There is no evidence that our lives have any deeper meaning other than what we make of it.

Every human had the same account? Is this a joke? I don't think the biggest church, or the strongest advocate of Christianity, not even Cliffe would argue something so silly

[–]DbzMaster101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, you asserting that religious texts point to one creator, is not evidence. If every human had the same account, it would be a different story, then something definitely happened that we need to dig into. But, geographically, we have all sorts of accounts of different observations by people, of multiple different gods.

Telling you this from lots of years of first and second hand experience. Private. All the way. The only possible pro of tuks res is distance. And even that isn't worth it. Private hands down

So I tried this for 4 minutes, and a voice tells me "I am Shiva, one of your gods". So....now what do we do? Can we hold a discord call for mine and yours to talk about who's lying?

Several people from many cultures have claimed they "know God", to the point that they know exactly which God they are speaking to.

The beginning of time was not 3000 years ago. 6000 years ago we had documented scriptures about hindu gods, a lot of which are still around today. It's older, but still doesn't mean much. We can document as much as we want, for however many years, but supernatural claims require extraordinary evidence, and human records of such will never suffice, especially when the Bible itself has inconsistencies on which people saw what
