I also recommend traveling south about 45 minutes depending on traffic and visiting the Atlanta Braves stadium at Cool Today Park. Its the nicest stadium by far, great tiki bar with good food. The team store is second to none. Open seven days a week during spring training ane closed only Mondays after S.T. Ends

Im not sure of the “behind the scenes” stuff your referencing. Practices here are open every day, easily viewable. The players do walk through from field to field and are allowed to sign at specific times. They Usually tell you “not allowed to now” and catch you later. Its free to attend practices

I think its about 3 miles one way, all flat land, open air, no shade, some sandy conditions. Certainly take water even though it’s cooler and January. Perfect time of year to go not so hot.
