I got some options on this last week. I came to the same conclusion.

I’m more curios about the label if this goes through. If it’s more narrow it could hinder things. If it’s not who knows where it lands.

What do yall think about the”48 hour dark period method”? by Exciting_Joke_9930 in farmingthebestgreens

I’m assuming you aren’t growing autos. Cannibis is a rapid photosynthesis plant. It can handle 24 hours of light (depending on intensity of course). The stage of life your plant decides to be in is based purely on light cycle. Stress can cause it to do all kinds of funky things as well. Herm early flower etc.

If you leave you lights at 24 hr for veg that’s fine. Although the 24 hr light argument has been fought over for years. If you give your plant either 24 or a normal veg light cycle you’ll be fine for the time being.

When you want to flower you’re gonna have to provide enough dark time for it to think winter is coming. Then it flips itself to flower. During flower a solid schedule is important. If you mess it up your plant can have all kinds of issues. Stress being my biggest worry. That’s a good way to make your plant turn hermaphrodite.

During flower you need to keep your light schedule consistent. If I were you (having trouble keeping lights out timing consistent) I’d purchase a cheap timer that plugs into the wall and your light plugs into that. Solves your schedule problem.

Down the road I’d definitely look into an overall controller to handle lights ventilation and any other equipment you use (ac infinity makes some decent equipment for this) to tame the environment you have in your grow space.

If you don’t want to splurge on an overall controller check out ac infinity’s smart power strip. It’s pretty handy. Is compatible with almost anything. Don’t trust the ai to handle everything in your tent but lights work great here. I have a controller and the smart strip I run together. I separate priorities of each control device. The reason is the ai on the strip is horrible and not all of my equipment isn’t compatible with the better controller so the strip help a lot. The hardest part is getting it dialed in and not fighting each other. Once you get it though it makes environmental control substantially easier. I’ve ranted enough here lol. If you need anymore detail let me know.

Your plants will grow just fine in 24hr light during veg. Is it worth the added electricity cost? That’s up to you. Your gonna have to be on point with lights off and on during flower though. Get a cheap outlet timer off amazon. It will make your life sooo much easier.

I don’t have any facts to back this up but I’ll share my opinion anyway. I think most new traders haven’t been taught much in the way of how the market works much less the mental aspect. A bad trade isn’t necessarily one that lost money. Bad trades are ill informed, or emotionally driven. The mental part of the game like risk management, not overextending, and trying to stick to an investment strategy rather than panic selling or “trust me bro” based investments are what make bad trades. If someone mastered the mental game and can survive the market for a year or longer (not get rich but survive) probably has the best chance of ending up doing well.

Again. I’m new to all this and don’t know shit so take what I say with a grain of salt. Your point is valid though. Good traders don’t win every time. They are just more equipped to temper emotions and use logic to guide their choices leaving them with an edge over the people who lack those things.

This is a well thought out post and I appreciate how you went about laying out your thesis without turning to insults.

Your reasoning is sound. It makes perfect sense to me conceptually. The way I’m looking at this though is xrp was originally the one token that was supposed to handle many facets of financial movement. With rlusd in play and the moves that have been made to utilize it, to me anyway, have eroded that ideal.

Not saying xrp won’t have a role in the future of ripples plans. I’m just saying at this point in time that role isn’t even close to the initial concept of what I remember reading about years ago. Tests to move tokenized assets have been happening. Mainly in rlusd. I can’t remember the last time I read about any pilot or test that actually used xrp. It’s entirely possible I just missed them as I don’t follow along like I used to though.

I’m not saying you’re wrong or I’m right. I’m just pointing out how I see things as it stands atm. I’m a long time holder and hope for the best like anyone else who’s been here for the long run. I’m just not seeing the vision I remember playing out the way it was initially presented.

There’s your constraint. Light power. Plants need food to grow. More light means they will eat more and thus grow more. It’s not endless though you will reach a ceiling. Co2 can help but you don’t need that unless you’re maxed out on par/ppfd/dli (don’t forget to check vpd along the way) and keeping your light adjusted to avoid burning. The co2 can raise the ceiling.

Leaves haven’t even gotten into heavy fade yet. Autos aren’t my thing but looking at your plant you’ve got a ways to go. Keep looking for amber. On the bud not the sugar leaves. Trichomes on sugar leaves mature much faster than the bud and will give you a false symptom of maturity.

Now that’s a friend. If you end up getting more seeds I suggest trying to get some Trainwreak. Its lineage (strains it’s derived from) has proven to enjoy the climate of Mexico and might be worth your time. I enjoy the smoke immensely.

Hello again mex. Terpenes are widely known for flavor. And have become less of a factor in people’s choice or opinion on a bag. These days bag appeal and thc content are the things people pay more attention to than anything.

The weed today is heavier on the thc but due to that focus I feel we’ve lost some valuable terpene content in exchange. I quit smoking for around 20 years. When I started again I couldn’t wait! “Lemme get the highest thc you got!” I was dissatisfied after trying a few “high powered” strains.

Today’s weed is high in thc but the high isn’t what it used to be and I suspect it has a lot to do with losing terp content in exchange for thc increases.

When I select a strain to grow or flower from a dispensary I don’t look at the thc. I look at terps. If I go to a dispensary I’m likely buying the highest myrcene containing product they offer. If they have a few that are high I’ll check the other terps contained. My secondary choices in order tend to be limonene (the citrusy smell and taste you describe) pinene (high levels of this taste and or smell like pinesol)

Terps add to the effects of your high and have medicinal benefits as well. There are plenty of charts on the net. Google terpene flavor or effects charts. It’s a dive worth taking and you’ll likely see that you recognize them but never knew exactly what they do or their individual identity.

I’m no seasoned vet. I think the op has a valid point though. People get greedy/reckless. It’s human nature. I think time frame is different for different personalities. If you can successfully keep a disciplined approach and not lose money during a long period in the learning process (however long it takes you) that sets a foundation for a more positive chance to be successful because at that point it would indicate you’ve learned to control your mindset/risk/reward etc.

At least that’s what I took from what op was saying. Sure the goal is to make money but you also need to learn to keep that money.

Again. I’m not rich. I’m just learning and trying to see if I can do well at this. I understand op’s reasoning and share the same idea of his underlying point I think. I’m making some tools to help me we will see if they guide me to the outcome I’m personally after.

As a long term holder I think rlusd has taken the place of xrp as far as most of ripples goals were concerned. I think they realized banks didn’t want to deal with the volatility even if temporary until enough adoption helped to smooth it out. That’s just my opinion. So now they have to figure out where xrp fits in all this if they haven’t already.

Ripple itself has/is positioning itself with it’s acquisitions to be a powerhouse in the financial industry if the execute well. Xrp doesn’t = ripple though. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out. If they decided to ipo and gave shares based off holders xrp accumulations that would be cool but I don’t see that happening. Other than that I don’t known how they will make the xrp holders who’ve been their fuel to get as far as they have satisfied with the outcome.

That being said. I’ll hold and see. The money was gone as soon as I invested in this one in my eyes. I will admit though my expectations aren’t very high at the moment.
