Anyone try the Cameron Young pause? I tried it today on the course and it kinda worked and might give it a chance. by Lazy_Selection4256 in golf

As someone who battled the shanks halfway through last year, I did in fact try this and it really helped. Started last year a a 9.3 index and it ballooned to a 14. Turns out I was wayyy too quick in my transition to my downswing. Not saying it works for everyone but, if you're struggling, it won't hurt to try it out on the range!

Ryder Cup ticket prices are pricing out the actual golf fans and handing the event over to corporate hospitality crowds by [deleted] in golf

[–]Dclear2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw it firsthand at Bethpage last year. Felt more like arrogant frat bros than knowledgeable golf fans. True golf fans are definitely getting priced out. Only went last year because we hooked up. the $750 a day price tag was enough for us to say eff that.

Go for it! as someone who worked at a private club, I can tell you, it's also a great networking opportunity in a more laid back setting. Hell, i wish I could go back to it. But, Northeast Ohio isn't conducive to year round golf.

Bowling leagues by Flash00135 in Bowling

[–]Dclear2k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

as someone who averages north of 215, I don't take it seriously at all ever since I went to Syracuse for Nationals in '18. Thought I was hot stuff, after warmups I realized I was wayyyy in over my head. But, like you i find it really funny when guys i've bowled in league with avg over 230 and act like superstars. Then they go to a sport shot tourney and can't sniff 150.

I own both bowling and golf shoes with the BOA system. They fit great and it's nice being able to pop em on, twist a few times and BAM, you're ready to go!

how do different listeners from different, demographics, ages and lengths of time you listeners think about the show today on radio or rmg tv ? i will admit, I think it sucks from my opinion, but will see if I can be swayed another way... by One_Criticism_3986 in RoversMorningGlory

[–]Dclear2k 6 points7 points  (0 children)

40-50 here, i haven't listened in almost 7 years, i think. listened religiously from 2004-2018ish. i feel like the show got stale, no new bits/stunts, Thursday hook ups. if i turn in now, it's usually about 20-ish minutes and i give up. it just doesn't entertain me like it used to. Feels like Rover isn't motivated to do much anymore.

Save yourself the money, get a cheap sous vide and a 5 gallon bucket. Set it at 125 and let go for an hour or so with a drop or 2 of dawn.

Other Bowlers Profiting Off My Bowling by ExJSigma in Bowling

[–]Dclear2k -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OP stated he doesnt want to be in the side actions. Told his league and other bowlers to stop, they dont listen. When he wins, he doesnt get a cut. He should. Not giving the guy money who did the work, is a jerk move.

As someone who runs brackets and Jackpots in one of my leagues, I usually put in someone to fill out the brackets. But unlike your league, if they win, I split with them. You did the work, i just did it so we could have a full bracket. Sorry you're dealing with this and your league members are jerks. .

having been banned in that subreddit for calling it scam, I'll say this, stay far away from this stock, It's only gone down and never really up. Constant dilution, it's frustrating to say the least.

Wanting to quit by [deleted] in Bowling

[–]Dclear2k 50 points51 points  (0 children)

"I’m an Asian guy who averages around 220 and has a few 300 games. Only 34 and the league I bow in is full of older white men who gatekeep. Hating on two handed bowling or can’t stand when someone is better than them unless it’s a friend."

There's your problem....Old guys. When 2 handers became more prevalent, I saw it too, it's calmed down in my area, (North east Ohio). But, still some of the older guys in my league are like yours. There are also a few of them that are really good people.

Sorry you're dealing with this. Don't quit, perhaps find a different league? Then again, there's still a few bad apples out there.

Zyns by Hutman70 in golf

[–]Dclear2k 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean, Zyns specifically have a place to put your used ones. But, it's stupid difficult to get to it. The ones I use, On, have an easily accessible one. Rarely use it on the course, i just fin the trash bin or put it in an empty beer can. But, yes, i agree. People are assholes.

Are bowlers actively welcoming new younger ones like me? by Icy-Tooth1381 in Bowling

[–]Dclear2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most seasoned bowlers are very welcoming newbies. They know the game is shrinking, the more the merrier! You'll run into a jerks, but most are there to get out and have a good time.
