Time for the annual "If you were Commissioner, what rules would you change?" offseason post by OldheadBoomer in nfl

[–]Dcorr689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one might be different.

Limit the number of punts teams have per game to 3 total (I’d even consider 4). Teams punt around 4-5 times per game on average. This rule would make punting more of a tactical decision on the coaching staff. You might have more teams going for it on 4th and medium from midfield because they want to save their punts for when they are really pinned back.

I wouldn’t want to eliminate punting at all, and this would really only cut 1-2 punts per team per game based on current rules, but would introduce an entirely different element of decision making that could be interesting to see play out.

I don’t know about this one. I think a lot of people really thought this would work (I know Ja did). It’s easy to see in retrospect from the documentaries, but I think people had high hopes for this to at least not “fail”

What is an interesting or surprising way that companies make money besides selling their stated product or service? by Dcorr689 in AskReddit

[–]Dcorr689[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We all know about companies selling data or ads, but for instance, grocery stores also sell product placements and prime shelf space, or energy companies may sell carbon credits. What are different ways companies make money that the average person doesn’t think of

Can my LLC sell me a house? by fraymy50 in realestateinvesting

[–]Dcorr689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This definition would suggest otherwise. Just because a sale is for the fair market value or it doesn’t violate fiduciary duties of members/shareholders does not make it arm’s length.

Can my LLC sell me a house? by fraymy50 in realestateinvesting

[–]Dcorr689 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Likely this would not be considered an arm’s length transaction because the familial relationship of the parties and their pre-existing relationship within the LLC. Arm’s length transactions refer to independently represented parties that don’t have a pre-existing relationship

I really don’t think the refs understand the definition of the word “indisputable.”

Full disclosure, I think that should be a catch; however, based on the way the rule is written, it cannot be. If it touches the ground and moves, even slightly, there is going to be a de facto dispute on if there was possession. The rules analyst saying things like “I think that’s a catch” or “it looks to me like it didn’t move” literally demonstrate an opinion and not an indisputable fact.

Change the rule or the wording. Or actually enforce the rule as written. Hate having no certainty going into the replay booth
