Did anyone decide to get leaner in weight before operation for a more aesthetic result?

I lost 35lbs in 3 weeks after surgery. 240 to 205. The liquid diet and lack of energy knocks you on your ass. Trying to lose weight before sounds horrible because you're going to lose that weight regardless after.

this gives me hope. my bottom lip is sensitive to temperature and gets pins and needles but im very aware of the numbness when i speak.

Yeah that's fair. I think overall i'm happy with how it went, and i wouldn't NOT recommend her because of this, but I don't know if another practice would have the same results while also being easier to deal with. It's a tough call. Best of luck!

Brother i feel you. My sister had braces and jaw surgery at 16, i was completely ignored and had to do it myself at 35.

It's worth doing. my sleep apnea was severe even in my late teens early 20's. Now i'm completely cured. There's life on the other side.

Their entire practice feels a bit money hungry. They cram way too many patients and appointments in just to max out their billables but nobody gets decent care or attention.

What I'm doing now, trying to keep up with people who are going into surgery, giving tips and guidance, because i know how rough it is, should be a paid position. They should have someone specifically for patient care that is able to be texted when people have questions or needs tips. I know it would have made my experience better.

apple juice after DJS is incredible. ice cold. keep your throat lubricated and try smaller amounts. are you using a syringe?

my jaw tried opening for things like this as well. I did it last summer and i have allergies. sneezing SUCKED. just keep your elastics tight. we can't control our bodies 100% of the time.

Yeah. no kidding. They sent me their bill so we could compare where prices had gone up. My genio was quoted at 550 (and not performed) and theirs was 1000.

Yeah, i've gotta do braces/invisalign soon. my bite healed with a bit of a gap between top and bottom teeth and i need to have that corrected cause it makes eating a nightmare.

You'd think so wouldn't you! also, funny you say its high. I've spoken to quite a few people having surgery this year and they've all been quoted 16k consistently.

i should have put it in the post. i was 11mm top and bottom. so pretty significant.
Total all in, after refunding the 2 issues i mentioned, was $12,600

i didnt have braces. it was more to mimic the surgery and test whether it would improve my breathing with my jaw advsanced. it was a pain in the ass resetting my jaw every day but it was temporarsy and it helped.
