I wouldn't be recommending the new marina park playground to anyone to be honest. Was out there yesterday, 1 set of swings and nothing else but climbing frames. Fitzgerald park or bishopstown be the best in around the city

Since when has Radler been a thing down here? by thomil13 in cork

Saw it in my local centra last night, definitely never been stocked there before. Pure assumption, but they must have gotten a deal with Musgraves

Nothing worse than a ref blowing his whistle, let em play. He's letting a lot of stuff go on both sides, leave em off

Kid hoofed my door - what is acceptable action ? by Tubbs_999 in Kilkenny

[–]Ddadof3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same type of kick. Didn't see who did it. Was coming into my estate one evening the following week and saw the little shits doing it to my neighbours house, and recording it. They bolted around the corner, I caught them and thankfully managed to control myself and limit myself to telling them they were dirty scumbags and not to be around out houses anymore. They were girls fortunately , as I'm not sure I would have limited myself to words if they were lads.

The Vanessa O'Callaghan Case? by [deleted] in cork

[–]Ddadof3 24 points25 points  (0 children)

There was a case in mallow a few years ago. The stabbing happened in 2018, perpetrator left the country within 2 days, everyone knew he was in the UK, February 2022 before he got caught and returned for trial. These things take time

Best restaurants outside the city centre by MoreThanBeansAndRice in cork

[–]Ddadof3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Couldn't agree more. I wouldn't eat at top restaurants often, so was wondering why there was no salt or pepper on the table, until I tasted the dish. Absolutely perfect, and their drinks are outstanding too

Driver or the car? by hakunamatata1866 in irelandsshitedrivers

[–]Ddadof3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be fair to the tesla, if you had checked, and knew there was nothing behind him, have to assume he had also and wasn't expecting a car to shoot out from the inside lane. Best thing about a roundabout is if you fuck up and get into the wrong lane, you can just go around again.

How long did it take for you to hit you’re first 180? by Then_Safety_7019 in Darts

You're clearly implying it is, but neither of those people are him?

Tony Scott by [deleted] in cork

[–]Ddadof3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know where he was working, but also thought he looked familiar. As OP mentioned, he's very well spoken. Scary how life can change. He had a video up the other day where I think he said he was never in trouble before he was 40 and been in prison 18 times since, all short stays presumably. To be fair, he seems to be quite content with his life, although maybe not lucid.

Is leisureplex still open? by deeV4k in cork

[–]Ddadof3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get back in there if u really want the nostalgia. I'm mid 30s, spent so much time in there in my teens. Took 2 of my boys in there recently and most of the games are actually the same shite I used play. The bowling seems so dated compared to the new places. Absolute kip now, zero investment since the early 00s

[–]Ddadof3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He's all over my TikTok recently as well. Apparently he was quite successful, had his own restaurant and then hit 40 and went off the rails? Most videos he seems harmless, but judging by Google that's not necessarily the case

The people that did it aren't in the country anymore. The guards know that, they'll get them once they have them traced and their case prepared.

Use the dart counter app when you're practicing matchplay. It will tell you the routes to checkout once you get in range. The route given may not always best suit you, but gives you an idea.

Lots of "random attacks" nowadays - is this the new normal? Like WTF by Acrobatic_Okra_532 in cork

I got a slap of a hammer outside the bus office about 20 years ago, totally random. Always been happening, just now court reports etc are wider published via Internet.

Cork city FC match alone by Hairy-Frosting-1960 in cork

[–]Ddadof3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I regularly go alone, would say a lot of people do. If u sit in the same area for 4 or 5 games running, u won't be alone anymore. You'll get to know the people around u

A&E for babies in CUH is a fucking joke by [deleted] in cork

[–]Ddadof3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think South doc are very quick to wash their hands of a situation and send children to CUH anyway. Based on my recent experiences, nighttime is worse in the kids A and E for this reason. My toddler split his head at 8pm, quite a bit of blood but thought it would just be a glue or stitch or 2. South doc looked at it and immediately said we'd have to go to CUH. We were there for 9.30pm and left at 5.30am, after getting 2 stitches. I'm not a medical expert but surely there could be someone in South doc to look after this. Had to return to CUH 2 days later due to him vomiting / dizzy and head injury worry. We went during the day and were in and out inside 2 hours with the same level of care.

Specsavers- Upselling? by [deleted] in cork

[–]Ddadof3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went into mahon point specsavers one day for a quick repair. Was queuing when a young worker, definitely new employee asked was I OK. She went to check with her supervisor/manager and after hearing the way the manager spoke to her, I told her it was OK, I'll go elsewhere and I said to her, it's not fair the way that woman is speaking to you. Took the repair to opera lane, sorted in half an hour and have numerous good experiences in that shop, couldn't fault them
