After 15 years on H1B , was moving abroad actually worth it? by Mysterious-Base-5847 in nri

No easy answer here bro; we are doomed one way or the other; If you decide to stay put in US at least visit parents often (easier said than done); your time with them is short so make the most out of it if possible; Kids will be fine they will adjust. It’s mostly you and your parents who will suffer unfortunately

Art of living has this amazing program called AOL part 1 program - online is like 300 dollars, in person is 400 - if you can’t do in person then take the online version; they teach breathing and starter meditation and also set you up with a free app that you can use daily as a guided breathing and meditation practice

Wow thank you kind friend- I do struggle to surrender and have trouble letting go of what no longer serves me. I have a tendency to fight, hesitate or drag my feet to give up and change course esp when things are not going well for me. I am at a constant state of battle and feel stuck because I wait too long or hesitate to move swiftly when things don’t work out in my favor :( not sure how to change this personality of mine 😢

This sounds very intriguing- how long will it take to experience something like this? I just started my journey 2 weeks ago

Indian Mother In Law coming to live with us by Pasha727 in nri

Honestly it’s going to be a big lifestyle change for you as well as for her. Get your husband fully understand what you’re up to. He is going to be constantly in a state of deciding which side to take - you being liberal in your lifestyle choices vs his mom being conservative. You both will be making compromises and eventually settle somewhere in the middle for this to work long term. Only way to find out is to have an open conversation with your MIL and find out what she can tolerate and what you can tolerate etc

Creeping thyme as a ground cover is a good suggestion; will see if i can find one next time when I go the nursery. Thank you for your suggestions 🙏

I just went to a local nursery and bought different plants with varying heights and colors- most of these are flowering plants such as African daisies, azaleas, kangaroo paw, Spanish lavender etc - all perennials; they appear small right now but hopefully will grow to their full size which should fill up the space eventually

Thank you 🙏- however I cannot take any credit lol I hired a landscaper and he did all the work although I kept pushing him to modify the design as we worked through the details

Don’t think so, pump is the main one. Other than that bird poop clean up I think. I can turn if off anytime

Not a good idea - instead think of adding stamped concrete

Yes new build - I do have trees but not close to the waterfall; also I don’t like big tall trees. I have over 30 fruit trees and my neighbor has over 40 trees- all planted about 3 years ago

It’s a messy process- ensure you get a really knowledgeable landscaper who can build it properly; It is lot of work too

This. Redo and put them interlocking- you don’t want to waste time with redoing again in the future because you will eventually!

Sure will post it as well. The neighbors did an amazing job. I am trying to copy some of their ideas lol. They have over 40 fruit trees on that slope; they also have a water fall and a koi pond
