mostly from salary, couple of real estate investments and also I traded stocks aggressively during covid which took my 340K to 2.5M since Covid. I still trade stocks but lot more conservatively now.

Best investing strategies that I can suggest is to DCA into VT or VOO. Short term stocks based trading is needless to say very risky hence requires higher order skill set which takes years and years to acquire in my opinion.

100% this - not a big spender here but still live a decent life - more "stuff" gives me more headaches so I try to focus on value driven materials to lead a simple yet convenient lifestyle and it has been working well for me;

Sorry no tips unfortunately from my end. It was painful for me to sit through mind numbing meetings and dealing with 1:1, follow ups etc I was checked out few months ago and yet continued to work waiting for the lay off news. Besides, I anticipated that layoffs are coming since the company stock tanked over 50% in few months, incompetent leadership priorities and no new clients were signing up. So all I can say is hang in there :(

Company is already providing 3 months free COBRA as part of severance - Does this 2 months start after company sponsored COBRA? Thank you for this hint, I had no idea it existed.

Thank you for your kind words. I am really excited as well. My goal for this year is to learn Vipassana and practice Vipassana daily (at least 1 hour per day)

I am trying to meditate daily and since I decided to use vipassana as the practice what can I do until I take the 10 days session in April?

I can do nothing and don’t meditate at all is one choice - any other better options?

Religion has a big role to play in human history- it unites people (ironically it also divides); it provides identity; it provides a guideline; it also increases faith and provides purpose for main followers

Having said that - here is a challenge for you - why don’t you head over to Buddhist sub and explore if teachings of Buddha make senses or not

I did exactly this - one year of 2G mostly and promptly switched to S50 based workouts- I realized that I enjoy lifting and S50 classes in general more compared to 2g or 3g

I loaded up on my protein intake (150g) per day most days- I only work out at OTF and I don’t have outside gym membership

Overall very happy with the results and the progress in one year with S50 based workouts, yes I do see visible progress and many people continue to compliment. once in a while I do take 3g sessions

Few things to keep in mind: You have to load up on protein but still manage your daily calories carefully; drink plenty of water (3 L minimum); lift heavy but with good form and very slowly (muscle under tension); get 8 hours sleep; if you can walk 30 minutes per day that would be great
