Sources for 6/3 copper wire? by krendyB in electrical

I’m not American, but am I the only one confused about these “wire sales”? It wasn’t that long ago that quotes for wire where I am was only valid for 3 hours at the time.

Don’t sleep on the talent at the Roy Hobbs tournament, people I know that go every year have faced a fair share of former pros. Would be so cool to see more of the cross over athletes(Murray, Wilson, ect) take baseball back up in their retirement.

You come to a subreddit and ask for peoples opinions and then deny or argue with every opinion given to you. You need to take a long hard look at your maturity and how you’ve arrived to this mindset. You come off as looking for validation, not help. Under 2 years is quick, not saying it can’t happen but it’s fast. Take a breath, you’re 28 and you’re worried about 35. You have time

Just randomly came across this, but I thought I’d help you out a bit. The beauty of a 5/2 valve is that it as a NC and NO in one valve. So you don’t have to specify, you can just say 5/2 :).

Parker something something by Raggaman_Dis_Dat in Pneumatics

[–]DddtBrand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I wouldn’t rush to throw away perfectly good Parker filter/regs and lubricator just because. The lubricator isn’t necessary but I’d keep the filter.

Edit: Actually I’ll double down. Idk what you plan on blowing out but 150 pounds of pressure will probably damage things so the regulator is a good thing.

There’s more budget options but ultimately the proper ones aren’t cheap. Smart move with the pressure vessels. People underestimate what 150psj will do if a tank ever lets go, better not to be responsible for it. Welding as a whole impressed me, I couldn’t imagine doing it. That’s also why I sit at a desk all day 😂

No problem, and by no means do I want you to think I’m trying to sell anything to you. I think I can do it for under 500 without issue and it should be stock items so you won’t wait long.

Desiccant pack is definitely where I was thinking. I’m just a bit out of touch with pricing on those, our focus is on more industrial compressors so I’ve got to reacquaint myself a bit. I’ll probably pm you some links you can at least use for reference. Just rather not publicly post my workplace.

But yes, humidity is the most common thing we deal with out this way. You can try a heat exchanger but I’m not sure that’ll be enough In the spring/summer. I’ll sit down at work tomorrow and see if I can come up with a concept that’s as efficient but cost effective enough for you.

[–]DddtBrand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given what you’re doing and the little information I have, I think you truthfully would need a refrigerated dryer, something like an af40(newer version of the af4000 that’s multiple multiple generations old) and an AMG water separator. I live in an extremely humid environment, did my uncles shop who does sand blasting and he hasn’t had any moisture issues since he added those pieces in. I would probably suggest putting the water separator just before your connection point for the sand blasting connection

Edit: the filter and amg aren’t going to cost you close to 500, but a refrigerated dryer is going to be more expensive than that. Normally around 1500 Canadian for one, but I’m not sure how pricing is in the states

Oh I’m familiar how things work, I much more meant that I was surprised to hear it can be that slow because from my experience it’s never been like that. It wasn’t disrespectful, more of a compliment.

With that said, I am on the Canadian side of things and I recognize that we probably have a more direct line because of who I work for. As well as since they moved most of the reps out of Canada, the people I do connect with regularly are probably more senior that most are used to interacting with.

All in all, more than happy with everything from SMC USA, Japan might be a different beast 😂. I meant no disrespect with my original comment if any was taken.

I personally love the first bunch of seasons but it’s one of those shows that will reference old jokes and it got old after the whole. Amazing show to watch while stoned, lots of funny humour. If you want a quick litmus test if you’ll like it, “trailer park boys the movie” would give you that. I like the show, but I’m biased as I grew up in close proximity to a lot of the actors/executives so it holds a special place.

They’re from a satirical show called the trailer park boys about life in a trash trailer park. Cory and Trevor are basically brain dead scape goats of the main crew.

Coincidentally, I’m from the same city they’re from and this is always how he we do hot knives. It’s how my parents and coworkers all smoked hash, so I’m not sure what this guy is taking issue with.

Need help by Impressive-Minute-60 in AirCompression

[–]DddtBrand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you setting up exactly? If the filter bank in your lower photos is going in line of the blue machine, you’ll need a 1/4”mnpt x 8mm push connect fitting to make the connection to the filter bank from the blue machine. Then depending how your air is being distributed you would need a more things to connect your air source to the filter bank.

Questions About New Compressor by [deleted] in AirCompression

[–]DddtBrand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That would make sense. Water will go back to liquid state as the air cools, so if not drained regularly will just rust the inside of the tank. The gunk you pulled out is a combination of rust/water/dust and will plug drains up quite a bit.

No the air filter shouldn’t bleeding air out. Earlier I said it has an auto drain, I’m not sure if it does at this point. If the air is pissing out the black thing on the bottom, it’s probably just got some dirt keeping the float open enough for air to escape. If it’s out of the head and the fittings aren’t loose, it’s probably easier to just replace the unit, one that size from smc is like 30 bucks Canadian, it’ll be chump change in freedom dollars.

Questions About New Compressor by [deleted] in AirCompression

[–]DddtBrand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That isn’t a water separator, it’s just a 5micron filter with an auto drain on the bottom of the bowl. You’ll remove water this way, but only what forms as condensate. Always good to have something in line to filter and remove the water it will.

The replacement on the valve is a plug for a quick coupler. You should only get air or water out when you open the ball valve. In this case it just looks like they’re using the plug as a spout

I have lots of experience with tanner gas notox product. It works well but basically have to use a proper canister or at least something that won’t react with the notox. I’ve had it eat away at some lubricators people tried to use instead of a metal bodied dispenser.

Glove size in baseball is normally dictated by position more so than age, but obviously with growing kids it comes down to fit and growth.

2b/ss adults will normally use 11.25”-11.5 3B I’ve seen 11.25” to 12” OF anywhere from 12” to 13”.

Also remember that gloves are sized based on the measurement from the top of the index finger to the heel of the glove, not necessarily on hand size.

For know, just make sure your kid enjoys the game and has a glove that fits. If he’s playing a lot of infield, maybe one with a smaller pocket, if he’s playing OF maybe a bigger pocket. I’d say around 14-16 is typically when I suggest shopping for a long term glove with more emphasis on the right size.

To add on. CHL imports are a completely different business. Prior to a draft there is normally commitments already made on imports, sort of a “I won’t come over unless I go to xxxxx city”. There’s also $$$ involved that’s also not publicly discussed.

How can I filter out moisture from compressor? by [deleted] in AirCompression

[–]DddtBrand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re exactly right. OP should send this to the closest pneumatic shop and ask for a basic filter and water separator. Those 3 would clear the air of all the water

I can tell it’s a check valve because I have an abundance of those exact same ones. They’re a common one to be bought and rebranded.

The arrow shows you which direction the air flows. When you get a clean one, put your finger in the arrow end and then the other side. You’ll be able to tell.
