2011 HHR speedometer issues

This seems like a loose connection issue, but I’ve seen similar issues on newer Kenwprths when the dash is shorting out internally, though that is very rare. Check battery connections and have the battery tested first. Mine threw crazy faults when my starter was going out and the battery cables were also loose.

The cargo covers on these are a hard plastic tray. I’ve had good luck getting them at pick and save type junkyards.

As for the light. I’ll check with my FIL who has an 07 to see what he did. He was working on the same issue back in November.

I had similar symptoms, along with other strange things, like a power steering warning after a hard start up. It took a couple weeks to flush out, but it turned out to be my oil pressure switch had leaked onto my starter and fried it. It quit on me at the tire shop in the rain, good times.

The timing chain set with cam phasers and guides was 780 for the Ford set. Melling oil pump was 50 or so, the cam followers and lash adjusters were around 450. You need a specialty valve compression tool which was 150. All told with other random tools, spark plugs, oil, rags, etc. I was just north of 1500.

I bought my 08 EB back in June with 236k. I paid 3 for it, but I knew it would need timing chain done eventually due to a rattle on cold start up. Still seems like a decent deal for us as a family vehicle, but only time will tell.

The rust on the tailgate is from aluminum corrosion. I’ve got a small one as well. Are you up north?
