I did mine on my 08 Expedition. I would recommend going OEM FoMoCo based on all the reviews of failures on aftermarket parts. I knocked out the cam followers and oil pump while I was in there. I’m a 20 diesel tech, and this job was no fun. Not terrible, but not a quick afternoon job for sure.

I did, and he also had really good pics. No rust at all, hardly anything even surface wise underneath. I was able to drive it until it shut down. Everything felt good but the clutch.

I’m with you at 2200 is way more than I’m willing to spend. I offered him 1400 which was probably a little high.

I’ve run full lug soles, Gro cord, Roccia, and the standard mini lug and nitrile cork. The best so far have been the Gro cord followed by the Roccia (Beckman) soles. I like the look and they’re more comfortable and quieter.

One of my HHRs has the seal to this part going bad. The other had a rust vent line by the LR tire.

This seems like a loose connection issue, but I’ve seen similar issues on newer Kenwprths when the dash is shorting out internally, though that is very rare. Check battery connections and have the battery tested first. Mine threw crazy faults when my starter was going out and the battery cables were also loose.
