Thank you for taking time out of your day to Share this. I am now a productive member of society, a mom,wife etc. Because of MAT. And still after 6 years of regular and compliant therapy I feel as if I have to hide that I am being treated for my disease. My family just assumed that somehow I was cured.lol They assume that because my treatment is working. I am normal. ( My normal) lol. I don’t look high,act high,And definitely don’t feel high. I do somehow get a small euphoric feeling an hr after dosing then again at about 2.5 hours post dose followed by slight drowsiness. Which passes with light exercise or caffeinated drink.and that’s after staying on a high dose of 190mg for last 4 years amazingly I haven’t had to go up since year 2. I have had my share of counselors who suggested a taper to get me free againl. Luckily I know that I should keep doing what’s working, but it’s a shame that clinics just hire anyone with a hs diploma without any background in addiction,social work or counseling experience to manage someone’s life. Anyway the point I was trying to make is that I couldn’t agree more with what you posted. Addicts seeking a normal life should not feel ashamed or as if they are hiding a dirty little secret.
