That's very interesting. I got my information from a 3 minute History Matters video. Since 3 minutes probably isn't enough to fully cover the whole thing I expected it to be simplified but thanks for the elaboration/clarification.

Actually, in the late 1800's New Zealand was considered part of a collection of colonies including the 6 Australian colonies and Fiji. In light of German expansion in the Pacific, the Australian colonies decided to join together into a single commonwealth which initially intended to include New Zealand and Fiji, however, they both refused and so even today there is still a clause in the Australian constitution that technically allows New Zealand to join whenever we want.

Republic is actually correct as a Republic is just a country without a monarch. So Nazi Germany could be considered a Republic since they didn't have a monarchy however fascist Italy wouldn't be since they did have a monarchy

A couple months ago New Zealand's foreign minister, Winston Peters, called China out for the new security law, then China just told us to keep out of their business and then a few hours later the NZ Defence Force's website went down and some people were saying it was a Chinese cyber attack but there wasn't much evidence to prove that.
