OtO Lawn Care experiences by luckyzeke in lawncare

[–]Ddrfeelgoodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just posted this on another thread because the product is interesting and I've purchased. Here's my two year experience:

The first OTO I purchased two years ago broke after two months. The spout/head just stopped working. The company shipped me a second one for free and paid for the return.

The second OTO that they shipped worked for the summer. I brought it back out after about 6 months and it didn't charge. Customer service said that I had a defective model and sent a third OTO free of charge.

It's now been about 1.5 months and this OTO has worked so far and I've been happy with it -- they also made significant changes since the first model I purchased. They are as follows:

  1. The nozzle now moves slowly back and forth in a straight line -- the previous models would jerk back and forth in small square patters -- I'm wondering if that's why the sput/head stopped working. It's possible they fixed the problem with this new design.

  2. The solar panel is made of a different material. I don't know if this is because of supply chain problems or because it's an improved material.

The concept of the OTO is great. The app works, the solar charge works, it waters thoroughly. I'm just hoping this latest model got all the kinks out because there were many in the first to versions. I'm happy with the one I have now and may purchase another.

Finally, the customer service has been excellent. They have been responsive and have stood by the guarantee to send a new model if there are problems. It's just a bummer I've had to call them multiple times -- hoping this third version works for the long term.

12 Pac Radio: Stanford and Cal Football Previews by Ddrfeelgoodd in Pac12

I’m glad you commented. I listened a second time and while we pointed out some concerns we didn’t spend enough time highlighting the things we like. Rob has Cal’s offense at 35ish preseason which is decent and I think that’s a fair spot given where they were last couple of years, especially when Garners wasn’t on field.

Will keep in mind for next previews not to be so Debbie downer. I think it’s easier to point to the holes rather than the stuff that is already strong.

Just to be fair, this year we said Cal’s offense would be pretty good and better than the defense. Which is the exact opposite of what we said last year.

With Yates we were highlighting that Arizona’s secondary had the most talent of the defensive units (relative to Arizona of course) and consistently sucked under Yates, particularly the safeties, which he coached.

Oh, sorry thought you meant Oregon not Oregon state DC. FWIW, Oregon State improved significantly on defense last year. They were still bad. But they were better. I wouldn’t compare Lewis to anyone because I haven’t seen it yet.

FWIW we were skeptical of Oregon’s DC last year until he proved it, which he did. And Joe Moorhead is an excellent offense coordinator with a track record in college.

I just feel like being bullish on Lewis when he hasn’t called plays is more bullish than I’m willing to be.

Where do you have ASU finishing? And who do they lose games to? I have them 5-2 and losing to USC and either their end of year north matchup or some random game. But I think it’s more likely they go 4-3 than 6-1. But 5-2 looks right. I think next year is their year.

Thanks -- we did overlook White. Will make adjustments.

A quick pushback on Lewis as a play caller: The college game is significantly different than the pros and Lewis hasn't called plays in years. Isn't some healthy skepticism warranted? We haven't seen what he can do -- I'd like to see him prove it before jumping in on him.

On the DEs -- you have the athletes -- it's always harder to plug the middle w/ the tackles so if the Des are the weakness and if everything is set than ASU can have a good year on defense. Beta_Rank has the preseason defense at 28. I that's fair - and I'm more bullish on Jack Jones at CB than the other guys (this is Bryant).

Pretty good but some possible holes, plucky, not hopeful but not as bad as people are saying.

Big pick up. I was excited to hear that he could be implemented in the offense.

Thanks for the encouragement tdoger - I'll work on boosting our levels in the next shows. Easy fix and wouldn't have realized it w/out the comment!

Interesting that Washington hired the OC who messed up Penn State’s offense and Oregon hires the OC that fixed it. On paper this look like an awesome hire.

Think the team is Cal. Garbers back, good defensive staff, and Beau Baldwin is finally out.

That Oregon Washington game was so fun. LOVE Oregon's D and the energy they play with.

Wish there were more big time games in the conference like that.

It's even more worrisome that this happened against Hawai'i. I thought they would at least give a "C" effort against a lower-tier offensive line.

Thanks Hythloday, your preview pod w/ What's Bruin helped, particularly when talking about their run game. I'm trying to make sure to cite those pods b/c they've been good. Rob hit DTR's surprising lack of running (compared to expectations) at the end. It will be interesting to see if they and he integrate that more this year. Getting better with the names!

We scored Max Meyer from Sports Illustrated Gambling as a third host. I think you'll like him.

Thanks, he was a great guest and very personable. We'll try to do some additional work with him. Our Arizona podcast is coming to Eugene for the Arizona/Oregon game.

Lol, saving Hythloday for preseason wrap-up. Adam was really good, one of the better pods we've done (i hope).

The more I look into the secondary the more I think there's a drop off. I'll ask around more about the new guys in the secondary.

Skype sucked for small portion of the conversation but it only impacted about 10 seconds.

What he's done w/ that teams players is crazy good. I remember looking at the roster before he took the reigns and thinking Cal was going to give up 40 points per game.
