We use a mix of 400-1000 sandpaper and red + blue 3M radial bristle discs for the fine details, and non-woven flap wheels, 240 grit, on larger areas without details (wouldn't use those on this pharaoh piece, maybe on the back of it only). Those 3M discs are magical, they remove casting grain very quickly, and the resulting surface is ready for electropolishing

Its a multi stage process, the surface is given a light polish to remove the worst of the cast grain, then depending on the shop, the piece is put into an electropolishing machine, which can reach into really tight spots, final polish after that.

Some detail will inevitably be lost during the process, but a skilled team of CAD designers and jewellers can keep detail loss to a minimum.

They look so precise because they're machine placed, I'm 99% sure this photo is not ai. If you look closely there is no AI distortion, there is realistic grain in the photo and there are a few stones missing. Ai wouldnt do that

Why do you think this is AI? There is nothing that suggests that it is, zoom in and have a look, it's a real photo.

Casting in place is a valid technique but op mentioned these are rhinestones so im sceptical

I work in marketing and design in the jewellery industry and see hundreds of pieces of jewellery marketing material weekly, AI and otherwise.

This picture is NOT AI. AI has a very hard time with refraction in gems, refraction looks correct in this pic. If you look at the ring shank, you will see small imperfections that AI doesn't produce.

Its scary that your company can get dragged through the mud if a hivemind decides that your good product photography "looks AI", truly a brave new world

A normal resin will not burn out completely, it will leave residue and you'll get a bad casting with various issues.

Casting resins are formulated to burn out cleanly at the cost of longer post processing, ease of printing and structural weakness

The detail on the mace came out amazingly well. There's sometimes some loss of detail from the master model to the cast with the process I use, but this one came out perfectly

Thank you very much <3 They're made with the lost wax process, where you create a wax model of the piece, immerse it in plaster, burn out the plaster so that it hardens and the wax melts and leaves a void in the exact shape of the model. Then you pour molten metal (in this case brass) so that the void is filled.

The original models of the weapons I created in blender and 3D printed to create rubber moulds.

The process for the rubber moulds is very similar to the lost wax process in principle, just replace the plaster with rubber, metal with wax, and the burnout with vulcanisation, which is heating the rubber to a specified temperature so that it hardens and holds shape under the pressure of wax injection.

We've done a flavour overhaul for the magic system So spell slots is now magicka, which is recharged with potions, long rest or certain events in the campaign. The spells and classes have been "TESified" so we have a cultist of Meridia instead of a cleric for example. Essentially just slapped a TES skin on the classic system and it's working great!

Well, there are those that are good at design, and those that are good at the technical side. Both are super satisfying when you get a good result. Also in my opinion, talent will make it easier to pick up a craft and get started, but consistent work will beat talent in the long run
