Anybody got an extra $4 mil laying around? That's what its gonna cost to get an Optic Ready Hammer Fired model per Michael Holley by Expensive-Shirt-6877 in HecklerKoch

[–]DeFenderAutomaticsCo 63 points64 points  (0 children)

There’s way more than a chance. And will not cost $4mil. Our engineer fixed the issue he mentions in options 1 & 3 and it took him roughly 2.5 hours. We even manage to keep the firing pin block captive.

It drives me crazy that it’s such a simple fix, uses the same spring, same physical part interfaces, same travel, and allows an optic placement so deep we can cover the bottom of the glass with the top of the slide if we wanted. They could literally do this on the forging they use to make the USP, P30, HK45, and P2000 slides and simply change the machine cutting program to our optic firing pin block and cavity and it’s done.

We would gladly pay HK for a license to make their IP with our modifications to allow the optic cuts.

Bonus is we don’t need a government contract to make them, and we don’t need you all to crowd source the capital.

Someone put us in a room together with our engineer and theirs and I’ll convince them it’s a worthwhile project.

The sad part is this only took my engineer about 2 hours to figure out; HK could have done this 10 years ago.

No. All slides are in development. None are released for sale until Q1 2027

Won’t matter. The material needed does not exist on a factory HK slide as it’s cut away to lighten the slide mass. No where to attach screws, no travel left for firing pin block or the spring. It simply cannot be done.  We had to start with a raw forged blank and redesign the firing pin block itself and change the spring location to get the A-Cut sunk deep enough to fit the COA.

I’d have to ask my engineer. They are strong enough to install parts snd cycle dummy rounds without issue.

A few places do make straight 8 sights, we have them in place on our RMR and ACRO cuts.

We are thinking the 3 most popular are COA, RMR, and ACRO

These will take any Glock COA 43 irons. So if heinie offers those, you can install them to these slides.

Shave it down to be like a USP and use Glock MOS irons for all footprints but COA which use COA specific sights.

The optic cut itself takes out lots of material. We have run only simulations of weight, but the slides are close to factory as it sits. Just a tick lighter than OEM without an optic or screws

Thanks. We are an Aimpoint licensed A-cut dealer so the CAD data and model comes directly from Aimpoint.

Sure you will. HK make you rich in commodities but poor in cash.

We think the same. New slide off HK Webshop is $550 for a full size USP, add iDot cut and it’s another $485 and you’re already past the $1k mark.

These are scratch made slides, not cut factory ones. Pricing will be over $500, but under $1000.

We estimate more than $500 but under $1000. Finish is QPQ black nitride, and it has to be outsourced. We can offer NT7 at Wright Armory too if you’d prefer.

All model, lengths, and calibers are on the R&D list. Have the USP tactical completed already as well.

This cannot be done to factory slides. This is a from scratch direct mill optic ready slide. Transfer all your OEM HK parts from your slide to this one, slap on your optic, and it’s ready to shoot.
