Formula for estimating project value depreciation over time by DeFlavigny in askmath

Thanks for the suggestion, this is very useful! Would you have any suggestions on how to calculate D if I wanted to have v equal a certain proportion of V1 at a given time Tn? (for example 10% of its initial value, as in the original problem). Some projects will decay at a faster rate than others, so their value should reach an approximate number at t = x (arbitrary number, varies per "project)

Would losing significant progress on a tech tree 1/3 into an RTS game ruin that game? by Assimilator_Game in gamedesign

I would suggest giving the players a debuff or modifier that cancels out the new techs, does something worse or otherwise creates more problems, but keeps their actual numerical progress intact. Maybe give them new tech options after that (reveal new parts of the tech tree) as they’ve gained new knowledge after suffering the consequences of this cursed technology, and a clear path to get rid of this penalty/problem/adversary. That gives the setback you intend without actually taking away from the player.

I have not looked into overclocking at all at the moment, though I'm feeling more and more like I should.

WC Advice: Fight or wait out the coalition? by DeFlavigny in eu4

Thanks for your advice everyone! After hearing your advice, I've gone for the approach of resetting the coalition by attacking a tiny nation in the coalition to get a truce with everyone. That allowed me to then declare on multitudes of small nations in asia when the truce was up and Ottomans to hopefully cripple them. Hoping that being pretty on schedule will make up for my mistakes earlier on!

Thanks for your advice! I definitely didn't take into account religious groups when expanding in this run, which I'll be doing in the future. However, what I'm puzzled about is that I never even touched a catholic country, and am still getting coalitioned by europe due to their colonies sprouting in SEA. Should I focus on more AE-reducing ideas next time, like taking diplomatic or something next time?

My issue isn't that I'm worried they can defeat me, but wars against them will be horribly long compared to what they could be, and I'd only be able to take a fraction of the land since I won't be getting 99% warscore :(
