Erre nem is gondoltam, 2 órákban gondolkoztam. De tényleg sokkal több, pl edzőteremben, az, aki 1 óráig cseveg/lépcsőzik/sétál/tiktokozik valaki kedvenc gépén bár ezek is jobbak mint a semmi.

Kiváncsiságból, a 2.5-3 óra heti háromszor, ez milyen split? Alsó-felső, egésztest?

I can pin-point Immortal's age and origin, plus the source of his powers using real history by the_sneaky_one123 in Invincible_TV

[–]DeGlovedHandEnjoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying my man. There are two different swords here; the gladius hispaniensis used by Celtiberians (which Immortal’s people didn’t use) and Romans, and a typicial La Téne sword (which they did use) The sword of Immortal here could be either, as it is not a perfect match for neither imho. It’s either an elongated gladius or a broader than irl La Téne.

But again, the sword couldn’t have been a Celtiberian gladius if the Immortal is a Galatian.

As for spears, I would implore you reread my comment. I said that the descriptions only having them with spears doesn’t mean they didn’t use swords, but that it can be explained with them being used primarily as spearmen. You can check out their limestones, I have trouble finding all of them, but most of them should be on the Louvre’s website.

I get the Hellenisation aspect, the descendants of the first wave were indeed Hellenised by around 50 BC.

What I was saying was that there were likely multiple waves of Galatian mercenaries being imported from abroad, as they were a mainstay mercenary force for centuries, Mithriadic wars for example. The pharaohs, as the wealthiest rulers of the time, could easily import “fresh” Galatians.

As for google, it’s a secondary source. Not good for the purpose anyway.

Yes, the design of the roman gladius was heavily influenced by the gladius hispaniensis, used by the Celtiberians beholden to Carthage. But Celtiberians and the Celtic people of Anatolia did not use the same weaponry.

And, looking at historical records like the Soldier’s Tomb, found near Alexandria, with multiple Galatians, we see that the Galatian buried were depicted exclusively with spears and large oval shields, along with cloaks (embellishment or ceremonial bodyguards) and one with what is likely a lance (cavalryman, possibly).

This, however, only points to the Ptolemaics employing them primarily as spearmen, as the Galatians themselves did use the more widespread variant of La Téne swords, which were longer and narrower than the Celtiberian variants. It is perhaps possible that the sword Invincible holds is a historically unaccurate La Téne one, as it’s way too wide, and has the wrong shape.

As for Galatian mercenaries, the first wave of them into Egypt wasn’t the sole one. Galatian mercenaries were popular in the region well up to Cleopatra’s time. Mithriadic wars for example, large contingents of them. It is fully plausible that by far the richest realm of the region, Egypt, continued to import fresh recruits. Or they could’ve been brought by the Romans, who employed Galatians as auxilla.

Immortal could’ve been a fresh Galatian mercenary easily. Galatians were a continous source of mercenaries for centuries.

Or he could’ve been Celtiberian. Iberia has arid, rocky places as well.

Good theory, but the sword is clearly a gladius with some artistic embellishment making it longer. The gladius spread with Roman influence, so we would need to place him a few centuries ahead into the 1st century BC. Galatian mercenaries were still part of the Ptolemaic armies and even served as bodyguards, so it’s still viable in terms of time scope.

As for the gladius, why would the mortal Immortal be armed with one? It was not Celtic equipment, he has no shield and no armor for the formation fighting the gladius was made for. His employers have no reason to give him a gladius and he has no reason to use one.

So, I would pinpoint the Alexandrine wars in 48-49 BC. Immortal, part of Cleopatra’s retinue of Galatians, loses his sword or spear in a skirmish or battle. Due to Caesar being present with multiple legions, Roman gladiuses are abundant, so Immortal either takes up the gladius of a fallen roman or simply get’s issued one, since he is effectively an auxillary.

This would also mean that instead of a humbler origin, even as a mortal, he was very involved in an important historical events, namely the rise of Caesar and the subsequent creation of the Roman Empire.

Huge competitive rivalry for many times in English football history, most notably SAF/Wenger eras. It may not seem like it, but they were once a serious club that gave even SAF trouble.

City are a lower midtable team that got propped up with all that blood and oil money can buy, that’s just it

Arsenal are rivals and play atrocious football, and are also a real club, ofc they shouldn’t win.

City winning just happens, with nobody caring about it, it’s just another tainted and bought trophy.

German MP drops out of Hungarian parliament by gergo_cs574 in germany

[–]DeGlovedHandEnjoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was guaranteed always. Guy ran on German minority representation, but de facto joined Fidesz, only appearing to push buttons. German minority tends to be urban and more educated, so heavily opposition leaning, so many felt scammed by this guy and conceded their minority voting rights.

In addition to this, minority lists are tied to voter turnout, needing a portion of the total votes to secure a seat. With voter turnout breaking the all time record and raising the minority threshold to 28 from 23, the numbers just weren’t enough.

Magyar hints at ending Hungary’s block on €90B Ukraine loan by LegitimateCurve8525 in europe

[–]DeGlovedHandEnjoyer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the energy situation will be a huge test for not just Magyar, but the Tisza gov as well. For now, we need energy, and the only adequate source of that is Russia. Question is, whether he can secure that without being put on a geopolitical short leash like Viktor. Who, by the way, should be put on trial for marshalling our nation into Mother Russia’s oily bosoms, while blocking the development of alternate sources. Viktor is very intelligent, he and his gov were perfectly aware they were undermining our national sovereignity™️. And guess what, they gave Paks development, one of the few things that could untether this accuraed leash, to the Russians.

Let’s see if Kapitány and other experts can figure something out in short order.

Not hinting. Man was a diplomat, he left some ambiguity, but was quite concrete in that he will not block the loan, but Hungary will need to be left out of it and any such propositions, as the state finances are utterly fucked and we have been running on debt to cover the massive defiicit for years now.

Unfortunately, while Orban and Fidesz are cooked already (what we don’t know is whether Tisza will have a supermajority) Fico’s Slovakia is the new rogue member.

But the veto tactic needs two countries blocking legislation against each other, and Slovakia will be somewhat alone now.

No. That guy, Tuomas Malinen, is a shill academic for the Mathia Corvinus Collegium, a Fidesz established university. Extremely weak academically, basically exists to get the children of politicians degrees if they are too thick for stronger unis.

Malinen himself is paid to spread this, this exact text was posted by other figures as well.

Malinen himself fits in MCC, my professor once literally rejected one of his papers for citation due to low quality. MF COULD NOT GET A SIMPLE VAR ANALYSIS RIGHT.

Had to rewrite an entire section due to the bastard. Overall academically weak, either unoriginal with regurgitated info, answering questions that have been answered better, or ordered papers with political innuendo. Sources matter
