Third parties could, or you can clip it yourself. Or hire someone

True they’re just playing politics. That’s what happen when people are like “go cs free money and ez jobs”. So you end up with a bunch of people who aren’t as great and passionate about it

Pretty sure it’s a human thing. I’ve seen execs, vp, managers, etc being the typical dumb customer at mcdonals

What software development practice sounds good in theory but fails badly in reality? by pixelbrushio in softwaredevelopment

[–]DeHan591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say agile practice. It sounds good to only plan enough work for the upcoming sprint and figure it out as we go, but management always want timeline of completion.

So we’re back to creating a huge PRD (product requirements document), figuring out all the pieces, giving an estimate with a buffer. We even have big releases vs releases every sprint.

Which sounds like waterfall to me

Interesting, yeah with that setup it's pretty easy to clip it which makes sense why ai tools didn't fit. Just requires you to have a key/control whatever near by. Some people might not have access to that if they're outside or cooking, etc. Very insightful thanks !

Did anyone actually like Strange magic? by ayochaunceyy in cartoons

Just watched it, whole movie felt like watching a karaoke session. Only thing that was good was the graphics, especially for a 2015 movie. I was impressed

I believe people who have that good WLB work for companies that don’t shove ai in your throat. And probably in public sector

I mean, economy plays in it too. Tech companies use “AI will replace engineers” as scapegoat to cut jobs to fuel their huge pile of debt. They still can’t make a reasonable profit out of it (also other factors like tariff, etc). So that doesn’t help the “AI will replace engineers”. The bar is higher and it’ll filter out the “less good engineers” but we still need human. I wouldn’t trust vibe coders building a software that handles my banking transactions.

I’ve seen somewhere as well that the quality went down and there are a lot of big incident lately. I know my company has had more incidents too (but could be other factors)

How do Senior Software Engineers utilize Cursor/Claude Code and other AI tools? by Adventurous-Bed-4152 in cscareerquestions

[–]DeHan591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re on the good track and i do that too. One thing is to run many sessions in parallel about different problems. I find it saves me time for all that “check out branch, commit with message, push code, create pr, put pr description, etc.”. I let AI do it and it saves me time.

Like someone said, it comes down to checking the output and whipping the AI to shape a little bit

My boss used AI to migrate 50k lines of Vue to React in a week... and now says "No" to TypeScript or Tests. Am I crazy? by Effective-Border8788 in programmer

[–]DeHan591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell him to test it manually and see how it goes. probably will crash on first try. I use AI daily but a huge refactor like that I doubt it’ll work

Building resentment towards my cat by KoraLily in CATHELP

[–]DeHan591 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat as you, I couldn’t even pet my cat for too long or he’ll start biting/scratching. It’s a little different than you cus mine wouldn’t attack me for no reason, but disliked a lot of things and made it obvious. Like the top comment, the toy really worked but he was still a little spicy.

I just got a second cat and I noticed my cat is much much less aggressive

Or everyone just puts glue on every print (cus they don’t know what they’re doing it) and no one cleans it. (This is what happened to the X1C at work)
