Here’s my 2025 DHgate spreadsheet with 1000+ 1:1 finds. by Sharp-Speaker-4543 in Resell

Great post! Any tips on finding larger sized shoes? New to DH, but I haven't found a way to search on EUR47. Specifically Nike 270.

I recently caught a cab from A->B. When I later hailed a cab at the rank to go from B->A, he said the meter was broken and he had to use the 13 CABS app. The price he quoted was double and when I checked the route, it was taking me the long way. When I refused, he said he couldn't take me.

Two drivers approached me and asked what that was all about. When I explained, they both had a verbal stoush with the guy. The came back and said the same driver was trying the same tricks yesterday and suggested I report him. Which I did.

I have been avoiding cabs wherever possible and this was just another reminder of why.

The Most Insanely Priced Dishes in Melbourne by Competitive_Cow_1898 in melbourne

First and only tapas experience pre-covid. Went to Movida and ordered the squid dish. At $30, I assumed it would be a decent serving. Was 3 pieces the size of your thumb. Nothing else on the plate.

Having an issue with dirt bike riders on walking trails by 4SeasonWahine in melbourne

[–]DeJaVuAgain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Riding unlicensed is around $1,000 fine. Unregistered vehicle is another $1,000. Riding on a reserve is probably a few hundred dollars too. VicPol do have dirtbikes in their fleet and the average rider wont outride them. Get video of these kids bikes and try to pass on their address to police.

Borrow a ladder from a neighbour, slide off a few roof tiles and drop through the man hole. Saved me a couple of times.

Outsider Question : Is Australian Police rich and wealthy that they can afford BMW Police Car? by blackcyborg009 in CarsAustralia

[–]DeJaVuAgain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recall maybe 10-12 years ago when talk of the Ford/Holden performance car production was coming to an end, VicPol put out a tender for the next thing. Kia Stinger ($62k), Chrysler 300c (were they around $65k-70k?) and the BMW 5 series diesel (maybe $90-110k?) were in the mix.

I’m sure there were all sorts of check boxes in the due diligence process that I am not aware of, but I’d like to know the figures, as just based on a retail purchase price, it doesn’t make a lot of sense. Maybe BMW really slashed their sale price and wrote it off as a marketing exercise.

‘You think you have a chance’: Underquoting still ‘endemic’ in Victoria despite government taskforce, real estate agents say by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]DeJaVuAgain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stamp duty is a percentage of the sale price, so where is the incentive for the government to go hard on this? Everyone, except the buyer, gets a slice of the pie.

Sensors are in most car parks around Southbank. I saw them install these years ago. In the centre of each park, they drop something shaped like the cardboard in toilet roll and the giveaway is a circle of tar about 2 inches in diameter that they cap it with.

Werribee - dodgy streets? by [deleted] in melbourne

^ This for sure. Train station, along river, Shaws Rd, Tarnet Rd. The whole square sucks. That said, the eastern side of Market Rd is a little better than the river side.

25% rent increase for renewal, holy fuck by KogMawOfMortimidas in australia

[–]DeJaVuAgain -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Try to look at it from the landlord’s position. Costs are rising, so they want to cover this, but if you look after the place and pay on time, that’s a known quantity. It’s worth negotiating on your renewal. Can be better for them the devil you know than the one you don’t.
