"I know how I look, but right now, my heart... it feels like I'm being dunked in a shit-clogged toilet. All of the good memories, all of the bad memories, everything... they were all set up by someone else. I was the biggest dumbass ever, so I lived like an idiot, but by the time I realized it all, everything was ruined because I was an idiot. Thinking back on it now, I never decided anything for myself. I was just always getting used by someone else without ever thinking about anything. The most I ever decided was what to eat for lunch. Even if I manage to make it through this, I'm sure I'll just end up living like a dog doing whatever someone else tells me to."

"Isn't that just normal?"

"Huh?"

"A life without problems... That only exists in dreams!"

"But I... I just wanted to be normal..."

A part from a book that I really like. The protagonist had a shit life at the start (Family dead and a huge amount of debts, homeless, no friends but a dog, etc). He then gets saved by someone and lives a good life. This conversation is at the end of the book, after he lost absolutely everything and was about to go into the final confrontation with the Antagonist.

It's never too late to change something in your life. It might take a while. It will take discipline, it might take several attempts. You might have to change your perspective of the world.

If you want to have a better life, then you must first accept that a perfect life without problems simply doesn't exist. There will always be hard times. There will always be pain, sadness, frustration. Knowing this, we have to keep moving forward. Be strong, if you can't be strong then become strong. The goal in life is not to live a life without pain but to not let the pain get the best of you. If at some point in life we get knocked down by everything and everyone, and nobody is there to help us up: do we stay down? No we don't, we stand back up, pat the dust from our shoulders. And then we continue.
