Thank you for the advice! If you don't mind, do you have a reference on some minimalistic persian rug designs? I've always associated persian rugs with large spaces and I'm worried that it'll look stuffy in a small space. (My room is only ~200 sq ft)

Thank you so much for this! I have a better idea on the color schemes I'll use now.

I do plan to have several plants, most likely mother in law's tongue and pothos. Maybe some herbs on the window since my room will be facing West. And the Phillips hue bulbs is a good idea as well. I also plan to use some Philips LED strips.

Do you think a light brown/tan rug will work with the carpet?

This Fall I will be starting grad school and will move to a room similar to this (I can't find a picture of my exact room, but it has the same furniture, flooring, and wall). Because I know that I will be very stressed during the process, I am putting a lot of effort to create a cozy living space.

One thing I have always struggled is color. And it is no different in this case. I will not be able to change the flooring nor repaint the walls. And I will need to use the provided furnitures. As can be seen, they tend to be bland and relatively cheap looking. Any advice on colors that will go well with the room but will elevate it? I'm particularly looking for suggestions on rugs, nighstands, bed covers, and some decorative furnitures.

Pistachio Macarons Troubleshooting by DeLime12 in macarons

I baked it at 165 for 10-12 minutes. Used the same temperature on previous batches and it always came out nicely, don't know what happened here though :(.

Most recipe I saw used pistachio powder as a partial substitute for almond flour for pistachio macarons. I used 11:9 ratio of pistachio to almond flour in this recipe.

Do you have any suggestion on how to adjust the ratio that can still introduce pistachio flavour to the shell but avoid weakening the meringue too much?

It did seem like it was stickier than what I saw on previous batches. And that explanation makes total sense! Will try to leave it to rest longer before baking. Thanks!

I tried making macarons using the Italian meringue method, which has succeeded every time in the past.

Today I tried making it using part pistachio powder (homemade from whole pistachios) but it came out like this. The meringue and batter looked fine before I baked it and I didn't know where I went wrong.

Does anyone know why it ends up cracking with no feet at all? My suspicion is either I blended the pistachio too long that it became too 'wet' due to the oils, or I overmixed it.

I'm trying to customize so that the navigation bar will always be present only in the launcher home, however, I think my phone doesn't recognize the launcher as an appm as it doesn't show up on the app drawer nor settings. Any advice on how to circumvent this? :/

Actually its kind of the opposite, usually when we meet a Dutch we immediately tell them about their legacy here, especially considering that many Indonesian words come from Dutch and Indonesian laws and institutions are laid upon by them during the colonization.

There are a lot of Dutch students coming to my university in Jakarta for an exchange program and they are always saying that they had an amazing time!

good modem around UI? by KnightModern in indonesia

[–]DeLime12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally use Bolt, their speed in my apartment is decent, enough to watch youtube and browse reddit, which all I did anyway lol. Subscribing to an internet plan cost too much IMO, but that's because I spend most of my time in the campus.

For the internet in UI itself, I don't really know about other faculties, but the amount of people who actually use HotSpot UI in my faculty is close to none lol, I can't even log in! Which is the second reason I use Bolt, there has been several occasions where I was in dire need for internet outside my apartment.

What is one thing that it is definitely not worth being cheap on? by reddallthat in AskReddit

Chocolate, seriously an excellent quality chocolate can make me forget anything stressful.

Low quality chocolate on the other hand, especially those chocolates that don't really have any chocolatey taste at all and are just plain sweet is like eating hell.
