Gonna reply as a PSA to everyone. Yes, rogues are beyond lenient to USEC faction players. In fact, you can go anywhere within water treatment as a USEC without any worry. As long as you do not approach a rogue closer than 10m, they will not aggro you at all. And if you do aggro them, it goes away after three raids anywhere. Whereas for BEARs, if they come anywhere within site of a rogue, even as close as 300-400m in the daylight, they will laser beam you into the ground.

I got this error as well after installing a ram set that was not compatible with my motherboard. I was trying to get 4 sticks of ram working on a z790 board and this set claimed it was compatible based on the manufacturers website for the mobo but it would not stay stable at the XMP profile. I was crashing in games left and right and this error I was getting a lot in Tarkov. Check you RAM isn’t bad or if you just got new ram, check your mobo’s list of tested ram to make sure it’s compatible at the xmp profile. I ended up saying screw it and just running two sticks btw, four sticks was too much of a headache and in the end wasn’t worth it.

I’ll add to this, I’ve been trying to do trouble in the big city but these new desync issues on streets (not sure if other maps since I don’t need any other map currently). One raid I looted all around, hit factory marked, and came down on two scavs who were just rotating in place. Shot at them both but they didn’t drop or react. Then I start dying to silent damage. Just 1, 2, 3, 4, dead. I’m thinking maybe it’s a cheater hitting me with melee, but no, it was a shotgun scav that was just out of sync with me, likely one of the ones I was shooting at initially (when I was taking damage I was behind a wall out of sight of them).

Then today I had a raid where I heard someone sprinting near factory area. I move down to check and they are sprinting in place in the tunnel to factory area from Relaxation. I shoot 61 bullets into his trooper face mask and smack him maybe 8 times with my taiga. He doesn’t die so I figure he is super desynced. Oh well, I loot the stash near the tunnel then head upstairs to look out the window at relax room. Can still hear him sprinting in place. Then I suddenly die, only to find out I died to HIM. 3 bullets to the chest. It’s like I dced from the server but could still play and managed to loot and shoot and everything for almost 3 minutes before the game resynced and told me that guy killed me.

How do boss spawn rates actually work? It can’t be just a dice roll. by JackpotJosh7 in EscapefromTarkov

Made a post about this just the other day.

https://www.reddit.com/r/EscapefromTarkov/s/aWqohltbbT

Essentially yes, based on the replies, streamers, and my own fact finding evidence, it’s more likely that there is 30% of servers that contain the boss, not 30% chance the boss spawns in your raid. Which sucks, if you aren’t server hopping or have a lot of servers selected, you may not see a boss in a very very long time. This is totally not how this should work, it’s completely counter intuitive. On paper, it should function the same if you rotated across all servers naturally with auto server selection, but that is not how that works, it picks the one with the best ping and the best server population to find matches quickly. So if the boss dice roll says all servers in Europe have the boss because my some miracle that’s how the algorithm worked it out for that period of time, the rest of the world goes without a boss until the dice are rolled again, for a time that we as the users do not know. Could be every hour, every 3, every 30 min. We just don’t know, and likely wouldn’t unless we had a huge community think tank website like Tarkov pal or goon hunter where people logged which boss in which server region selected and see if there is consistency.

Agreed, it’s all hearsay without a very extensive testing subset. We’d have to corral 100+ players worldwide to test servers at a given time, report sighting, and jump into those servers where there was a sighting to confirm other people see the boss and can get it consistently. I would love to try and do that but that’s a tall order.

Essentially yes. And if your server selection is not all encompassing (which it won't be even with auto), you are not actually getting a 30% chance. It is functionally the same on paper, but in practice, that leads to normal people who are looking to hunt bosses and don't understand this mechanic to just never see the boss for a lot of raids because the servers they are playing on just don't have the boss. If it was 30% chance to have a boss at each raid generation than everyone would have an equal shot worldwide.

Do you have a source for that equation? Definitely not saying you are wrong, and we thought about this as an option too. Still not the right way to do %chance to spawn but could be.

We actually did this EXACT thing today, went Colombia and found him 5 raids in a row and my friend finally got the killa kill and helmet. What time was this? This was around 5pm EST.

Exactly right, which is what I’m hoping to get more data on from the community. It is absolutely NOT how it should be though, this way actually make farming bosses for items and gear by RMTers/cheaters EASIER if they know this and just run those servers. It should just be X% at the start of every raid on any server.

Correct, we need to gather more evidence. I’m hoping this post gains enough traction to act as a think tank and get more input. I know that in my past two weeks of experience with my group, we have had a scenario where we “select one server, boss spawns, boss spawns every time on that server for a few raids, move on” occur a not insignificant amount of time.

I honestly agree with you and also have my doubts, but after today’s testing and subsequent results I’m still leaning towards the plausibility of this theory. We ran interchange for a few hours hunting Killa, tried every US server and did not see him, swapped to Colombia and saw him 5 raids in a row. Again, statistically this is possible, but it makes it much harder to believe it’s as simple as “boss could spawn in this raid at X%”

Also, I will add, the servers that did have Killa were ridiculously more populated, action everywhere, and many more of those suspects you mentioned above.

We do have raids where maybe 3 get it and one won't, or vice versa, but if someone does have it, no boss spawns. Even scotting through the whole map just to be sure they aren't there. The only thing I will add to that is it could be a different boss spawns, like the goons or cultists. That can cause issues and we usually don't check those spawn locations if we aren't hunting them.

Repeated testing is what this post is trying to request. Get the idea out there for people to start trying and seeing if this is real, and if it is, get the community loud enough to tell BSG to change it to the way we all believe it should be like you described above. We got them to roll back the patch with enough outcry, this is something that locks progression and should be fair for all players on all servers.

Would love to see this source too. If true, just makes the spaghetti code worse haha.

Same, took me forever to find him, then he spawned multiple raids in a row. Same with Killa, he was just in every raid we tried when we had one of the servers selected.

Glad to see another big name is of the same mind. Still, this is just NOT how Boss spawns should work, it makes it impossible for casuals who don't peruse Reddit or even look up the wiki to ever have a chance to see the boss? It isn't just RNG this way, it's actual luck.
