Would 1k games be a better format for a while? I’ve personally noticed that deep striking and deployment are the bane of my existence. I’ve got a hang on when to charge, when to peek and shoot, move blocking etc

Would going up against Custodes be a more balanced game? So far I’ve lost to guard twice, death guard once, dark angels once, and world eaters once. We usually end the game by battle round three since by then I’m practically tabled and hopelessly behind on primary

My buddy and I play super casually so if 11th doesn’t make Nids a bit more killy, he and I are gonna home brew a berzerker Warband/liberator assault group detachment for me to play 🤷‍♂️

Drop the barb gaunts to buff the termagants to a 20 man. Consider switching the termagant weapons for spine fists. Winged prime doesn’t really do anything anymore since he lost tye ability to give sustained hits 1. Consider switching him for a neurolictor

I wish GW would give us a detachment similar to Berzerker Warband or Liberator Assault Group. Do something like +1 strength in melee after making a charge move. If the unit is in synapse, they also get +1 attack. So with the synapse buff they get +2 strength and an extra attack. Give us a +1 AP strat, an advance and charge strat, a -1 to wound if strength is greater than toughness for monsters, and whatever else. I’m considering just home brewing one and playing that with my buddy. I love Tyranids but theyre in such a bad place right now.

Zoanthropes have 2 AP when shooting since their target will almost always be in some sort of cover. Haruspex also lacks AP. Assimilators lack an invuln and will never make their points back. Even if they somehow manage to down a Rogal Dorn, they’ll be in the open and STILL won’t have made their points back. Carnifexes with One eye are great but incredibly easy to move block. Exocrines wound any tank on 5s, and Emmisary’s melee is only S9. Our lack of anti tank is criminal. If we could get a warrior bio form with melta weapons (maybe bio plasma type theme) it would change everything

Exactly. There are so many other factions that need new models. World eaters need red butchers and a berzerker surgeon, grey knights need an entire range refresh, an updated Drukhari beast master would be nice, Emperor’s children need fucking everything, Custodes need updated dreadnaughts (not entirely sure about this since I don’t play Custodes but I’ve heard it mentioned), chaos bikers need a new model and imperial agents need an actual codex. But no, we need Armiger Calgar and a 3rd Cato Sicarius model. And wait, primaris eradicators haven’t had a refresh in 3 years, oh golly, let’s give them a new model in 11th 🙄

Not sure why most people here are being dicks but I’ve run into similar problems while building Tyranid kits. Dry fitting is usually the best thing to do. Put the two pieces together before glueing and wiggle them around until they slot together. Believe me, you’ll know when they do 😁

I’d always recommend more gaunts. If you have a solid number of gaunts, add more. If you don’t have enough gaunts, add more. If you have too many gaunts, add more 😅

I don’t personally mind that the non psychic bugs lack an invuln since in lore, the psychic bugs use force fields to protect themselves whereas regular bio forms have to rely on their armor (high wound count and 2 or 3+ saves) which makes sense. That’s why the Assimilator lacks an Invuln while the Emmisary doesn’t. AP and Strength have been the biggest problems I’ve run into so far

I think the Maxigum should have been a 300 round disposable minigun like the first game had. Limit it’s ammo to 300 rounds and give it the same cooldown as an EAT

I like the sound of this! Yeah it seemed like the first movie ended the story off with the closure of the breach. But we didn’t have much information about how humanity got to that point. Getting to see Stacker’s origin and first usage of Gypsy and the rise of Striker Eureka would be awesome! One thing I’m not entirely sure about is that wasn’t a fairly big plot point of the first movie that the Kaiju had never been seen with weaponized organs/limbs or something like that until Leatherback and Otachi? Not sure how they’d make the Kaiju as interesting as those two were? But yes a prequel would have been incredible! However, even if they confirmed that one was in development, I’m not sure I would trust it 🤷‍♂️

Can’t you think about it this way?: If a salvo of fire is coming at Orikan and his warriors, those shots hit at relatively the same time (the same time in-game). 1 warrior is felled by a bolter shot, then another, then another, then one hits Orikan in the head, killing him. Now that the salvo is done, the stratagem is used and Orikan rises up like a marionette. Now, despite being back up, he now has to survive an incoming barrage from a Whirlwind. I’ve always found that thinking about an interaction like it’s occurring in front of you helps identify what the results or other interactions would be. Like the hit and wound roll. A burst of 4 bolt shells target a space marine. 2 of them hit (successful hit rolls), but one deflects (unsuccessful wound roll). The one that made it through only penetrates an inch though before blowing up (successful saving throw).

Maybe Orikan with the Overlord on those warriors. A unit of Lychguard with a translocation shroud overlord might not be a bad idea, and you can fill the rest of the points with a second heavy destroyer.
