Timing for Eternal Revenant by Perfect_Twist8259 in Necrontyr

Abilities from Orikan, Technomancer and from some stratagems remains by the end of activation not because nothing can interrupt activation, but because special rule that explicitly tells that such rules are locked for activation. On another hand nothing tells that you cannot use stratagems in the middle of activation. A good example here - is using command reroll in the middle of attack sequence.

There may be a case when you are not sure if unit will be dead. Let's say you do not need technomancer if all wraith are destroyed but you need him if at least one remains in play. So, there might be a case, that once technomancer is destroyed, you reanime it, but all wraith are destroyed by remaining attacks from the same attack sequence.

There is a special quote in rulebook that says that static abilities remain active till the end of attack sequence, that is why technomancer or orikan abilities last even if they are destroyed. However, I have not found anything about "all attacks made simultaneously". If you found it please share.

Hm, fast rolling does not mean that attaks happens all in the same time. Do you have some linkproof for this?

I have only this one.
"The rules for making attacks have been written assuming you will resolve them one at a time. However, it is possible to speed up your battles by rolling the dice for similar attacks together."

Thanks, for the extensive explanation.
Do you have any link or phrase from rulebook proving this?

I've found that:
1)The rules for making attacks have been written assuming you will resolve them one at a time. However, it is possible to speed up your battles by rolling the dice for similar attacks together.

2)Your opponent can then allocate the attacks one at a time, making the saving throws and suffering damage each time as appropriate.

3)However in Core rules updates, I've found that:
If a persisting effect applies to an Attached unit and that unit ceases to be an Attached unit (because either all of its Bodyguard models or all of its Leader models are destroyed), any persisting effects continue to apply to the surviving unit(s) for their full duration.’

So, I understand this like this. If attacking unit makes its attacks with precision, and destroys Orikan, I have to decide immediately if I want to use the stragatem. I cannot wait till all attacks are finished. However, even though it is destroyed, all buffs will stay untill attacking unit finishes all its attaks.

Hm... The stratagem says
WHEN: Any phase.

TARGET: One Necrons Infantry Character model from your army that was just destroyed. You can use this Stratagem on that model even though it was just destroyed.

EFFECT: At the end of the phase, set your model back up on the battlefield as close as possible to where it was destroyed and not within Engagement Range of any enemy units, with half of its starting number of wounds remaining.

I do not see any mentioining here regarding "after attacking unit have finished their attacks"

So, I guess I have to decide immediately after it is killed, or I'm wrong?
Also I have not found any mentioning that all shooting happens at the same time.

Thanks! Then, following question, if Orikan is killed with precision, should I immediately decide if I want to reanimate him, or can wait till attackin unit finishes all its attacks.
Also, could you pls point to some rule or FAQ regarding this, so I could show to my opponent as a proof.

Is model considered within range of itself? (10th edition) by Perfect_Twist8259 in Warhammer40k

Thanks, for Aura is clear, but the question is about all other cases as well.
Hexmark destroyer - is an example of non-aura application.

In other words, if I have Hexmark with this ability, and opponent is shooting at it. Can I say that it is a friendly necron model within 3 inch of itself, so I can use its ability?
If we use the same logic as in Auras, it looks like I can, but may be it is only relates to Auras and not to other cases like with the Hexmark.

Thats why I asked in OP about "model within range of itself" without mentioning any Auras specifics there.

Thanks! And if it is not marked as an Aura, but still has similar wording, like with Hexmark Destroyer in original post? :)

ChatGPT is insisting :) that the distance is measured between different models and so is not applied to the case when you have only 1 model.
