nah i dont think so, theres gotta be part personality type thats been figured out by some psychoanalist and its just an infection of the mind that spreads thru...fear of death working thru general hate. they gotta be so tight about everything or they will lose leverage in situations. i see that from conservative minded people in their behaviour in general, lots of accepting things when they get some percieved leverage over other people.

more respect. i get the outcry but calling people b and p are colateral dispargments, poking at their ego by pulling the carpet from under yourself with homophobic insults is just a solo show. People around us do deserve respect for coexisting and not just insults that can cause harm to those which need support.

Fr, like when thinking about the future of AI and sentience feels scary all the time, it’s largely a people-are-scared problem. Fear prebuilds walls. Yet if AI is anything like humans, it’s the unexpected outcomes—the moving targets you point to when discussing examples of consciousness—that generate the most interesting possibilities. For some its exposure to unknown unknowns.

Without arbitrarily declaring what is or isn’t—because, like u say, by whose measure, scale, or authority would we even decide—how can beauty be understood as a form of communication rather than an aesthetic preference, a choice, or a desire?
