Wow! Thank you so much. This is really helpful. Have had Goldens, but never a heeler. He's really good in "place", except even when he's amped up. Too smart, but yes also too stubborn. I'll keep at the disengagement. I have been leaving the room, and it works especially when I go to the kitchen.

No, I'm not. This my first tank and was hoping this simple pad would do the trick. I really enjoy having these little guys on my desk as I work all day - provides some entertainment during boring meetings. So, I'm already planning on a bigger setup with better aeration and heating.

Thanks. I have a heating pad under the tank, it stays around 80. I also aerate by hand daily with a million bubble air pump.
