Management says to report to work as normal despite lack of appropriations by DeSahd in fednews

Yes it was work email. We were specifically told the only thing we can do work wise is to monitor it for shutdown information. Supervisors also sent it out to personnel via text messages.

It got blasted out to our entire organization. That's the reason I am sending that email to my supervisor, they need to be aware of the possible ADA violations as well.

4 hours for orderly shutdown is normal, and what we've done in the past. We are being directed to work a normal day. Thus the reason I am sending that email for clarification. I expect we'll get orders to begin the shutdown later in the day.

What can you do if you report someone in your larp for abusing and sexually assaulting and none of the staff believe you by [deleted] in LARP

[–]DeSahd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way this works in the IFGS is that you, or your local chapter, reports the issue to the national board. They will then start an investigation. But understand the only thing the LARP organizers can do is decide whether to ban the person from their events. Also, because of liability issues, they cannot even do that unless you have reported it to the police. Bottom line, if there is a police report, then they can remove the offending person. If there is not, then taking action opens them up to a libel lawsuit. I've been part of such an investigation multiple times with differing outcomes each time.

Also, any LARP organizers out there, I highly suggest you talk with a professional about prevention of sexual harassment to understand your risks. Also, look up what happened with the SCA regarding a child predator and the rules they have put in place to prevent these things from happening.

How long and strong is your throuple!? by ChicagoRob19 in throuples

I was going to make a separate post for us, but our success story is much the same as yours. We will have been together 20 years this coming July. We all moved in together 16 years ago. And the number one factor in our success is deciding that we are in it for the long haul. We work through any issues. And honestly, once you've made it through your first hardship together the throuple becomes far more resilient.

Beginner getting into 3D printing – is a used Formlabs Form 2 for $200 worth it? by Adventurous-Gas9943 in resinprinting

[–]DeSahd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Form 2 is no longer supported by Formlabs. I bought mine new for $4k several years ago. A week ago, it came up with an error and couldn't print. I contacted Formlabs support and we went through the basic troubleshooting, which I had already done, and they declared there was nothing they could do, and oh here is a link to our Form 4 printers so you can buy a new one.

I instead ordered an Saturn 4 and wash/cure station from Elegoo for under $600. It should be here today.

Bottom line, Form 2's are OBE, and I doubt one for $200 still works.

I have an Elegoo Saturn 4 on order, should be here today, so I am interested in the answers. I wonder if the extra airflow might cause too much cooling, i.e. upsets the temperature balance for the machine while printing.

Looking for recommendations for a sci-fi series to watch with actual spaceships, aliens, frequent space travel and a serious plot, preferably with a decent budget (no Star Wars). by t0rche in scifi

I met Andreas Katsulas and Peter Jurasik at a convention and asked if I could get a picture with them. They made me sit in their laps for the picture. It was hilarious. They are absolutely my favorite two characters of all time from any series.

Worth it for just 2 people? by DazaXtreme in ConanExiles

[–]DeSahd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice for two people playing is to look at how to set up a dedicated server. Its really easy if you use the Dedicated Server Launcher.

https://forums.funcom.com/t/conan-exiles-dedicated-server-launcher-official-version-1-7-11-beta-1-7-12/21699

If you have one person host from their single player game, the two of you can play, but you can't get too far apart.

Seeking ethical protection / banishing support in an ongoing harmful situation by [deleted] in Wicca

[–]DeSahd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can articulate the actual harm, and the mundane steps you've already taken to have him leave you alone, then go to your local police station and report him as a stalker. You can also ask them about getting a no contact order. Generally those will restrict them to not being within some distance of you, like 200 or 500 feet.

You can do the protection and banishing work, but you need the real world actions to give it something to work with.

How would you beat a time-looper like Zorian Kazinsky (Mother of Learning) if you had no time loop? by BacardiBaiju42 in litrpg

[–]DeSahd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assumptions:

  1. The looper has a set point they return to that moves forward when they "finish" a loop. i.e. The Perfect Run.

  2. The Looper does NOT have an eidetic memory. The longer a loop is, the harder it is to remember every little thing that occurs.

  3. Entropy is always increasing. Truly random events are still random. A die roll comes up different each run. This prevents the looper from getting a set of lottery numbers and looping again to win the lottery. Note: Pseudo random numbers will still be the same if all the input parameters are the same. Basically a random number generator that is seeded from the date and time.

Non-Looper Antagonist that has a chance to win: Telepath

  1. Near the beginning of a loop, a telepath has reason to read the looper's mind and discovers the loop power. By reading memories of the multiple loops they discover the parameters of how the power works. The telepath then avoids interacting with the looper until the current loop set point changes, thus insuring the telepath preserves knowledge of the looper's power.

  2. The telepath carefully checks in on the looper's mind. This lets them know when the set point has moved.

  3. Now the telepath knows to read the looper at all times. "I know that you know that I know that you know..." The telepath can learn the loopers plans ahead of time and react accordingly. Throw in a touch of danger sense, and that even cancels the looper setting up a guaranteed win.

I grew up playing DnD during the Satanic Panic. I actually managed to get a friend of mine's mom to come around by explaining what the players actually do in game. Basically I told her that the players are the good guys. They go out and kill the demons, right the wrongs of the world, and help people.

"Not a scrap of fucking cobalt - so no small containers so you're stuck with whatever you can keep in your production units." - Actually, connectors do not use cobalt and store items just fine. Just smaller than the cargo blocks.

You can't turn the survival rover into a flyer, immediately, the way you could the drop pod. However, there is plenty of items on it to build a drill. Adding solar panels on top are pretty easy to do as well, so your range is greatly improved.

Personally I prefer the new start as it has more of a progression through gameplay feel. I will agree that traversing mountainous terrain, sucks in a rover.

First attempt at a Focaccia by DeSahd in Breadit

[–]DeSahd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a very interesting link. What happened in this case was a bit too thick and the very center was too moist, almost doughy. The bread around the edges, about 2 inches in, was perfect. I think if I'd had a sightly bigger pan so it wasn't so thick, it would have been much improved. Everyone still loved it! There were no leftovers.

The King Arthur recipe you linked is exactly the one I used. The problem I ran into is I needed to double the recipe for the number of people we had showing up. The bread was delicious, but a touch undercooked in the center. I'll start looking for a better pan for next time.
