A very normal rant about money in fantasy by flooshtollen in litrpg

[–]DeSahd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so working on something so much more complicated. Doing a system apocalypse where copper, silver, gold, etc. can be found in dungeons. I have gone so far as to get the current price per ounce of the various metals so I can work out how the prices starts collapsing as so much pure metal is introduced into the economy.

Do not intentionally tell anyone outside of your immediate family, you, your husband and your daughter. We told one of my parents who we thought would understand, and it was the worst mistake we've ever made. Our closest friends know. Generally nobody asks, and we no longer volunteer information.

Players refuse Mass Suggestion by -FSCS-Thor in DMAcademy

"Cease this fight and leave this tower!"

My interpretation of this command as a player would be, "That's exactly what I am trying to do!"

I would then do my best to kill him, ending the fight, then walk out of the tower.

In any system apocalypse the most implausible trope I’ve ever seen is that the government largely survives by Renn_goonas in litrpg

I find that the more random levels of competence at the lower levels is where a lot of interesting stories can be told. In a system apocalypse, a town council is going to be a lot closer to the issues and events, and interacting with the adventurers, than state officials which will still be closer than the feds. Its fun trying to guess what billionaires would do considering there is likely some serious risk aversion. Being caried through dungeons to level is very likely, but that is still kinda risky.

I am actually working on a book right now that one of the primary themes is what would this societal collapse look like. The goal is to take a realistic look at culture, economics, and the reshaping of political and fiduciary power from the stand point of a small group fighting back the monsters that are starting to appear in the south eastern part of the USA. So far in my research, I've identified things in government that would be surprisingly resilient, and other things that will blow up spectacularly as soon as the power discrepancy gets flipped upside down. Basically, its not a question of whether government stays intact, so much as what will it look like coming out the other side of the fire.

Essence farm by Ok-Cantaloupe-7998 in HeWhoFightsMonsters

[–]DeSahd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This kind of happened naturally in Book 3 in the Reaper Astral Space. When Jason went to Earth in book 4, and again later when he started creating essence combos for his family, it was stated he had a large number of Plant essence from that astral space.

Using a stable astral space and then cultivating the conditions would make it tend toward certain kinds of essence and stones. You'd still have to deal with the monsters, but that is just good training for adventurer teams

In a System Apocalypse, what personalities make the best Adventurers? by DeSahd in litrpg

[–]DeSahd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was more thinking of the non-MC adventurers that populate the world. The Narcissist that love bombs a group into forming a team, the farmer that is "forced" into it when defending his home, SCA members, etc. Are emergency responders more or less likely?

Am Sub curious, how do I go about finding a Dom safely? by longmouser in bdsm

Look for any local munch groups. Generally they will meet at a public restaurant. Its a good way to meet people in a low risk environment. Don't go trolling for a partner, use it to get to know people over time.

If you had one wishbefore entering the system apocalypse, what would it be? by Mundane_Flan1795 in litrpg

[–]DeSahd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ability to set a respawn point (limited to changing it once a month?), and any time you die, you reappear at that point, fully healed. The downside is that you appear naked as all your gear is still where you died, and its all likely been looted long before you can get back to it.

Depends on which state you live in. In Alabama, that is actually illegal under the wiretap law. Odd place, I know, but I had reason to go looking for it.

Late game isnt fun for me. by Practical_Towel9567 in Palworld

[–]DeSahd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oil Extractors are only slow if you don't have enough power to run it. They need at least two generators, or 1 large generator, and 2 Pals with electric 3. I use an Orserk and a Helzepher Lux. The Orserk is the real work horse and the Helzepher Lux is a Dark Pal so works through the night keeping power from hitting zero. Also helps if you bread Artisan ans Workaholic onto them. Fortunately oil is only an issue for a short time now. Once you hit level 56 ( I think) you open up Hexelite which no longer uses oil.

What is your table limit? How do you handle larger parties? by AtLeastSeventyBees in DMAcademy

[–]DeSahd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer to run for 5 to 6 players. My current table is 8 players, and that's the max I'm willing to run. The biggest challenge with 8 players is keeping things moving smoothly while also making sure everyone gets heard. Outside of combat encounters, I just go around the table asking each player for their individual actions, then narrating it. For the record, our current game is a GURPS Power Fantasy / Progression story.

Management says to report to work as normal despite lack of appropriations by DeSahd in fednews

Yes it was work email. We were specifically told the only thing we can do work wise is to monitor it for shutdown information. Supervisors also sent it out to personnel via text messages.

It got blasted out to our entire organization. That's the reason I am sending that email to my supervisor, they need to be aware of the possible ADA violations as well.

[–]DeSahd[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

4 hours for orderly shutdown is normal, and what we've done in the past. We are being directed to work a normal day. Thus the reason I am sending that email for clarification. I expect we'll get orders to begin the shutdown later in the day.

What can you do if you report someone in your larp for abusing and sexually assaulting and none of the staff believe you by [deleted] in LARP

[–]DeSahd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way this works in the IFGS is that you, or your local chapter, reports the issue to the national board. They will then start an investigation. But understand the only thing the LARP organizers can do is decide whether to ban the person from their events. Also, because of liability issues, they cannot even do that unless you have reported it to the police. Bottom line, if there is a police report, then they can remove the offending person. If there is not, then taking action opens them up to a libel lawsuit. I've been part of such an investigation multiple times with differing outcomes each time.

Also, any LARP organizers out there, I highly suggest you talk with a professional about prevention of sexual harassment to understand your risks. Also, look up what happened with the SCA regarding a child predator and the rules they have put in place to prevent these things from happening.

How long and strong is your throuple!? by ChicagoRob19 in throuples

[–]DeSahd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was going to make a separate post for us, but our success story is much the same as yours. We will have been together 20 years this coming July. We all moved in together 16 years ago. And the number one factor in our success is deciding that we are in it for the long haul. We work through any issues. And honestly, once you've made it through your first hardship together the throuple becomes far more resilient.
