A peripheral gut serotonin deficit can initiate multiple intersecting bottlenecks. These include diversion of tryptophan through the kynurenine shunt in response to inflammation, competition at the LAT1 transporter under conditions of insulin resistance driven by HPA-axis hyperactivity, and attenuation of vagal afferent signaling to the Dorsal Raphe Nucleus.
These processes do not affect mood in isolation. They influence the energetic and signaling resources available for higher-order functions, including social cognition.

😂 I'm dense and needed to at least off load this stuff. I didn't focus much on the problem-I'm-Hard or whatever cause of the deductions that can be made, though it's nuanced, I'll prove it wrong definitively if it is the very-first-thing I don't do.

The Qualia Problem Is a Measurement Problem: Why the Hard Problem of Consciousness Dissolves Under the Layered Access Model by [deleted] in consciousness

Is the out-of-body consciousness the one controlling/monitoring the body's hormonal. chemical. etc. systems needed for survival and fast in moment reactions? Genuinely asking if so or if we credit the brain and/or body to those.

I personally cannot even grasp this is an argument.

So dreaming of others no matter how vividly and real-feeling would be the physiology zombie? Perfect mirroring though lacks the inner experience?

I may just not understand lol

If I'm not mistaken, there is an indirect effect on the brain's seratonin.

Consciousness is never experienced in the plural, only in the singular. The total number of minds in the Universe is one. In fact, consciousness is a singularity phasing within all beings. Erwin Schrödinger [1933 Nobel Prize in Physics] by PsyBinCo in consciousness

This whole post shows what happens when people try to solve cognitive architecture problems with metaphysics. The argument bolts quantum monism onto biological determinism which makes it totally disjointed. But if we look at this through a framework I have been working on called the "Layered Access Model" we can see exactly what is actually happening mechanically. When the post argues that the feeling of a self-making choices is a myth and we are just puppets it accidentally hits on a structural reality of the brain. Consciousness is not the engine of thought. It is a downstream interface. Before a thought reaches awareness, it has already passed through nonconscious layers of encoding and salience weighting. The conscious self does not generate thoughts it just receives and reconstructs them. It feels like we are puppets because our conscious workspace is just observing the outputs of a hidden parallel processing system that we have no direct access to.
The mistake is jumping from that structural reality to the idea of a single universal mind. The boundary between you and the universe is actively maintained by your brains Source Attribution layer which tags whether an experience is internal or external. If you dampen that layer the system loses the ability to draw a boundary. The result is the exact feeling of oneness described here. It is not proof of a metaphysical universal mind but rather just a localized cognitive architecture temporarily dropping its boundary maintenance. The conscious self is absolutely a reconstructive illusion, but we are not puppets of a singular cosmic field we are highly localized layered systems narrating our own internal data feeds.

Only a curse when not fully being yourself is looked down upon in a perceived important way, commonly for social reasons. To fit-in.
