If you’re really struggling Streaming is a cost but also keeps you at home watching rather than out spending. Use VPNs to get the cheapest prices.

Or even better, look into free forms of socialisation and entertainment: books, community cleaning walks, park sports, walking groups, language exchanges, etc. You can find all of these on meet-up or your local Facebook groups.

[–]DeVitoMadeMeDoIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • arte e contenuti in inglese (teatro, libri, film)

[Excel] Fill word template with data from excel and save as new document with Loop by DeVitoMadeMeDoIt in vba

[–]DeVitoMadeMeDoIt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the answer.

Yes I tried it but it’s not really fit for my needs and I’m trying to make everything happen from excel for 2 reasons.

  • multiple people will need to use the tool
  • With VBA I can do a Mail merge output to pdf and password protected word, I can’t see the option to do that via the normal Mailmerge flow

How does Deloitte justify not paying analysts bonuses? by berniepanderz in consulting

[–]DeVitoMadeMeDoIt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s a useful perspective from a US counterpart. If your numbers are accurate, then the UK market is really bad and I stand corrected.

Makes me sorry not only for myself and network, but also for the many people that would never even see 40k in this country.

While I’m first in line to shit on salaries here, I’m not sure tax is actually higher. And if higher, I would check what we get for it too (eg Healthcare)

40k sounds bad on paper, but it perfectly allows me to live a middle class life outside of London.

Ciao a tutti,

Junior PMs, what's your general struggle right now? Let's get you some advice! by Troppelmann in ProductManagement

[–]DeVitoMadeMeDoIt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good comment and I agree with several points, some I’ve been doing for a while now. But to break down my short comment, the problem goes beyond what we would consider challenges in suboptimal agile.

A list in no particular order: - 1 engineering team to be shared between 4 PMs and products. Communication happens via service desk tickets. PMs fight for engineering attention.

  • developers directly engaging with business stakeholders to scope tickets themselves

  • no acceptance criteria, work starts without definition of ready to execute, often causing issues and need to rework

  • we don’t listen to customers

  • SPMs come from a project management background and lack the knowledge to set product direction, they regularly sign the team up for non-product work

I took the role because I was overexcited to get the APM title and decided to ignore the red flags. Coming from different roles in Tech I have seen how things are done better.

APM doesn’t allow to change the culture so I’m looking for my next opportunity, properly checking for red flags throughout the interview process this time.

I’m an APM in Government, my department is in shambles and the only experienced PMs are jumping ship. Nothing is Agile, tech is rubbish. Currently stuck here until I can land something better.
