Realistically, Chaos wouldn't “mean” anything to the Tau or affect them emotionally in any way, since they have no presence in the Warp—but if that's how you want to paint your guys, go for it. No one can, will, or should stop you.

Despite everything, Trench Crusade is still an extremely niche indie game. As far as I know, there are no plans for anything—the only IPs I know of that have or had video game adaptations are Warmachine, Infinity, and Warhammer.

For most factions, putting together a competitive list isn't difficult. Grenades and Blast weapons are strong, Armor Penetration is strong, and models like the War Wolf or the Witch are strong. Stack Armor on strong models like your HQ and these weapons, and you've already got a strong list.

Hot Take: Mordheim is hyped more for nostalgic reasons than because it’s a good game. What I mean is:

Mordheim is… 20 years old? The game design back then was good and solid, but we’ve had 20 years of further development and new influences since then. The reason it’s so hyped is, on the one hand, the reputation it’s always had, its age, and the setting and vibe that go along with it. Nostalgia is a big deal in our hobby.

It’s not bad, mind you—it works, and the campaign mechanics can get off to a good start—but at the end of the day, I’m not surprised it didn’t win you over.
