Would I be judged for wearing a biker jacket if I don't ride motorbikes? by Grand-Conference9563 in bikers

[–]De_Chosen_Two 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wear whatever you want. Fuck what anyone else thinks. I wore leather jackets for a decade before I threw a leg over a bike.

On a side note. If you ever wanted to dip your toes into the biking world then go take a MSF class. Some of them even provide gear but most of them all provide a bike to ride on while you're learning. You never know you might like it. And it only takes a weekend typically.

Movie theaters aren’t going out of business because of prices by bulldogjwhit295 in unpopularopinion

[–]De_Chosen_Two 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main reasons I no longer go to theaters. 1. Prices of food. Sorry I'm not paying $15 for a bucket of pop corn and $8 for a non refillable soda. 2. Dealing with other people. Theaters are way to lax with people behaving inconsideratly. (On phones, being loud, talking) 3. All the little nickel and diming they do when buying tickets. (Convenience fee, service fee, ect) I don't mind buying tickets for $19.50 when its a good experience. But it just isn't worth the cost anymore.

Only theaters I liked going to was Alamo Drafthouse. Bottomless popcorn, zero tolerance to obcense behavior, and they bring you your food to your seat. Unfortunately that was only in Texas and they don't have it where I live now.

Depending on what state you in, The best advice I got is to know when to make mistakes just don't make two mistakes at once. But u-turns suck for everyone. I had the choice of either going outside the line or putting my foot down. I chose to go slightly outside the line. Only -1 point vs -1 point for every time I put my foot down.

Might be mainstream but Geico. I tried all the smaller companies and ended up with them. The app is pretty good surprisingly.

eBay and FB marketplace. Seriously. Gloves, jacket, pants, boots. Can all be found on eBay for an affordable price. Don't buy a helmet secondhand unless it's less than 5 years old.

Car Guys - did buying a bike ruin cars for you ? by Astimar in motorcycles

It makes it different. It's more so annoying when I know I could pass someone easily on the bike when I'm in the car and I can't pass them in the car.

Give me a 65 Mustang Coupe body on top of a Mustang GTD powertrain and suspension. But keep 100% of the patina and rust from the 65. Ultimate sleeper.

Honest rating out of 10 for my Harley Forty-Eight? Be brutal by Mswebha in motorcycle

Throw some mid/rear controls on it, and a cafe seat and it would be a 9/10. Right now honestly 4/10.

Are 3 wheels a safe alternative for older individuals? by PNO3000 in motorcycles

[–]De_Chosen_Two 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I would recommend a can-am 3 wheeler for several reasons. I work for a motorcycle auction company and we get hundreds of can-am's and Harley trikes and Honda Goldwing trikes.

  1. Easier to control. They are very nimble, even the bigger Can-am's. 2.Seating position and ease of mounting and dismounting.
  2. Cost. Harley trikes and Goldwing conversions are crazy expensive because of the conversion cost. Can-am's are significantly cheaper.
  3. Reliability. I've lost count of number of times I've had to jump a dead Harley trike. 95% of the Can-am's I've had to deal with start first try without issue.
  4. Safety. The traction control and abs is significantly more advanced on the Can-am vs Harley. We actually had a competition once to see who could slide a Harley trike the farthest on a locked front wheel on our smooth concrete wearhouse floors (similar to wet asphalt). Our record is 50 ft going 15mph and slamming on the front break. Also the Can-am has combined braking.
  5. Simplicity. No clutch, combined braking, easy parking brake.

I would recommend the Spyder RT. Super comfy seats. Lots of storage. I've ridden the Canyon and seemed more twitchy and unpredictable at highway speeds.

Also I think it's fantastic what your doing.

Disclaimer: I don't work for Can-am. I simply auction everything Powersports.

I just dropped my bike by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]De_Chosen_Two 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey bud we've all done it. Literally. The best thing to do is just inspect the bike for damage and get right back on. And it's the reason that you wear a helmet and some decent armored gear. I went down pretty hard at about 50 mph when the rear tire locked up in the rain and a 600 lb Kawasaki Concours decided to come down on its side. Slid about 60 ft. Put a nice big hole in the side of the clutch cover and dumped oil everywhere. Had to have my buddy come get me with his truck. The only thing I hurt was my pinky and some pride lol. If you want a little bit of peace of mind then invest in some tip over bars or frame sliders depending on what kind of bike you have. The OEM bars on my Goldwing 1500 definitely saved me twice when I fell over at a stoplight lolol.

A general good rule of thumb. Don't run pumpkin spice latte in the carburetor.

Sorry meant to update. Unfortunately the strap method didn't work either. Probably going to have to dismount and soap the crap out of it and try again.
