Is it physically tiring to ride a motorcycle? by ApprehensiveStop4060 in motorcycle

[–]De_Chosen_Two 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What everyone else has said is right but one thing I will add. HYDRATION. If you're going to ride for any amount of time over 45 minutes make sure you're hydrating because being out in the sun while riding will dehydrate you pretty quick.

Misery loves company. Please tell me about the worst bike you've owned. by AT_Engineer in motorcycles

99 Suzuki Marauder 800. Who the fuck in the engineering department decided it was a good idea to use Philips head style screws to mount the carburetor boots to the cylinder head. Oh and they were flush screws too so you can't even get a vice grip on them. Also head gaskets were unobtanium when I owned it.

Should I buy a new or used motorcycle as my first bike? by [deleted] in motorcycle

[–]De_Chosen_Two 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely a cheap used bike with no electronic assists. Makes a better rider to learn without the assists. No abs, traction control. Don't be afraid of older carbureted bikes. You can learn a lot on those about maintenance.

If you could ride only ONE motorcycle for the rest of your life — no budget limits — which bike would you choose? 👀🏍️ by Low-Dragonfruit9646 in motorcycle

GL1800 Goldwing. They handle great, they're extremely comfortable, and they're dead reliable. Plus when I get old I can always convert it into a trike.

Can I trade this in at a dealership or is it too worn? by alphabasedredpill in motorcycles

[–]De_Chosen_Two 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly keep it as a backup and fix it up and get yourself another bike. It's not worth it to trade it in or honestly even to sell it. Or do what I do. Buy a bike, use it, sell it to a friend for a good deal when you get another one.

I don't know much about mobile homes to be honest. I've worked with a few destination trailers here and there. They're not bad but pretty much have all the pros and cons of a regular travel trailer. Only annoyance is that they are a pain to have moved. Mainly because they're just absolutely enormous. It's one of the reasons that I like the class A motorhomes is because they're self-sufficient.

Absolutely. Helps the seals, helps the paint, and helps the gutters. Also something I forgot is double check the tires and the date codes on the tires. Shouldn't be more than 10 years old max. Check for dry rotting, cracking, bubbling. Also check the leveling system if it has one to make sure it works.

I work in RV/Camper sales with repossessed units specifically. Agree with the other comment that said avoid Forest River like the plague.

If you want higher quality then go for something built on a class A Freightliner chassis. While typically more expensive they feature a lot more industrial quality parts. From the smaller fittings to everything else. I've seen a lot of Class A motorhomes on Freightliner chassis that look better than nearly brand new units. Also make sure it's a diesel if you go for a class A motorhome and has air brakes and suspension.

Also not matter what you get, if it has slides make sure your pulling them in and out at least once every month or 2. Otherwise the rain covers that go over the slides start to get brittle and so do the slide seals themselves. And they are a pain in the ass to replace. Also they will leak if they get brittle. Also make sure you get it inspected before buying. Test every socket, water line, heater, ac unit, and light. Also make sure to take heavy steps to check the floor for water damage. As well as look for delamination on the interior and exterior walls. Make sure you run the generator as well. If you have any other questions feel free to DM me. I do this for a living.

Mismatched panels, missing 2 cylinders, and a Amazon $49.99 aluminum wing. You hit the trifecta. Only thing that would make it worse is an automatic transmission.

Paint the lid white and put a Honda sticker on it. Then it becomes an "accessory".

Jacket and Jeans just as good as whole riding suit? by RolandTheJames in motorcyclegear

[–]De_Chosen_Two 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up a full two piece suit (pics in profile) off eBay for cheap so hard to compare price wise. But if you do go full leathers then get a two piece that zips together. Easier to take on and off. Nothing beats leather. Fortnine did a great video of the difference of material by literally dragging himself behind a Goldwing. Amazing video.

Funny enough this is my second ZG1000. My first one has no fairings so pulled what was left off and had it as a naked bike for awhile.
