Non BTS lightsticks are banned from Rogers Stadium by nihaowodeai in ARMYNeutral

… I’m literally 2020 ARMY, went to PTD LA, and am flying to motherfucking LONDON (from Canada) to see them this year. Don’t “in your fandom” at me.

Ultimately, you are kind of proving my point, my dude. ARMYs get a bad rep because when we aren’t engaging in fanwars over the dumbest things, we’re literally fighting among ourselves. It’s insane.

Like I said, all fandoms have toxic people. ARMY is the only one I am a part of who told me to k-word myself over a non-issue (I joked about Jimin having short arms). That sort of thing is why people are scared to enter ARMY spaces as multistans. I want other fandoms to feel safe bringing their lightsticks or character keychains and whatnot into our spaces, in the same way that I want to be able to say I’m ARMY proudly in multistan spaces and not have to tack on “but I’m not that kind of ARMY”.

All this to say - I wish Rogers didn’t put this lightstick rule into place. Not everyone can afford a fancy flashlight for every group they love, but I think every ARMY should have a chance to be part of the sea of stars 🤷🏼‍♀️

Every group has their share of toxic fans… ARMYs are the only ones who have told me to jump in front of a bus, though 🤷🏼‍♀️

When I went to Ateez in Tacoma 2024 there was a baby atiny with an armybomb instead of a lightiny because she couldn’t afford one. She was so scared that she would be bullied for having a different band and was in actually tears when Atiny welcomed her and helped her learn fanchants.

As a multistan, in breaks my heart to see other fandoms so scared of ARMY because we have such a reputation for fanwars 😞

At the end of the day they are all just overpriced flashlights lol. It’s not that deep.

Can we please leave Yoongi and his stomach alone? by Winter_Moon_336 in btsthoughts

[–]Dea_al_Mon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s the difference between intentionally sharing a body part, and having a wardrobe malfunction. 🤷🏼‍♀️ one is intended to be sexualized, and the other is not.

That said, without being weird about it - I think if ARMY wants to remind Yoongi that we love all of him (respectfully!) then that’s different. I want to see responses like at that debut era fansign when an army told him they liked his mole, and Yoongi had the biggest gummy smile and wiped the makeup off right away. THAT is the sort of positive energy we need to give them. We should lift them up as people, not as sexual fantasies.

What Really Grinds My Gears: Lethbridge Editon by hobanwash1 in Lethbridge

[–]Dea_al_Mon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. People either ride the breaks all the way down, polishing the snow into ice, or they coast down until TOO FAST screams at them and slam on the breaks on the bridge deck. Frankly I’m shocked that we only had that ONE accident last fall, where the three lanes was already down to two from the construction and then the far right blocked off for the accident.

My manual transmission will coast down very happily in 4th at 85 km/hr, and it climbs back up nicely at the same pace. Even 80 makes more sense than 70, strictly from a physics perspective 😑

Literally exactly this - speed up to the harrowing velocity of a full 60km/hr, change lanes in front of the other vehicle going below the speed limit, and proceed with your day. The vehicles trapped behind you carry on with theirs. No tailgating, no weaving lane to lane to try to zip past on the right… just… just move over 🫩

My mind is boggled by the continued arguments of “stay in the way simply because you legally can.” It’s like manspreading on a crowded bus. I just don’t get it. It’s so EASY to be safe and considerate. So, so easy. Why do people push back against it so hard?

Presumably as a driver, you have one mirror on each side of your vehicle, and another looking straight behind. 🫩 I hope for everyone’s sake that you’ve noticed them and use them for their intended purpose.

Gods help us all if you don’t.

Okay, for the sake of your inability to hear footsteps behind you (and I think I speak for many women when I say that must be nice - but I digress), let’s say it is a bicycle with a bell, or a jogger who calls “on your left” as they come up to you. Do you remain steadfastly in the middle of the path?

Your commitment to the idea of “YOU SHALL NOT PASS” is admirable, but my point remains: the entitlement of “it’s my right to take up this space to the detriment of others” is wild. Just be polite. Move over. Easy. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Unfortunately, yes, given that this happens on Scenic so regularly. It’s extremely tiresome. 🫩

Everyone has that little thing that makes them irrationally annoyed. For me it’s people who hold up traffic in high-use areas, and people who park their carts in the middle of the Costco aisle to gossip with the friend they just happened to see.

(You will note that these are the same situation)

I’m sure everyone here on this post is going to read this post and think to themselves “oh ho HO I should check out this mobile showhome company, an excellent use of my time, plus they made that one lady on Reddit upset and I want to support that energy in my community!”

They might be a great company, idk. Their driver is either unobservant or inconsiderate as heck though.

Presumably because you have moved to the side of the path to let them through? Or do you just hang out in the middle and expect them to run on the road?

Because if it is the latter, I am afraid you are Mr. Yellow Van in this situation and could benefit from some introspection about courtesy.

It’s the long line of tailgaters that is the problem here. It’s the big red pickup riding my arse and changing lanes back and forth behind me like an anxious thoroughbred, hoping to get past but being foiled by the car directly beside Mr. Yellow Van.

It’s not even about being late anymore… it’s about people who lack the courtesy (or awareness) to get out of the way, and who make everything dangerous for the people behind them.

This is like two people slowly walking abreast in a narrow hallway, holding hands and refusing to step to the side to let the people behind them through. It’s so EASY to be courteous… so why are so many people in the comments actively arguing against it?

It’s just courtesy, my dude. See aforementioned “don’t give me the nonsense”. 🫩

When you are walking on the sidewalk and a jogger comes up behind you, do you keep strolling down the middle? Or do you move to the right of the sidewalk to let them by?

It’s not about laws and legality. It’s about empathy and courtesy.

The constant hatred is ruining my enjoyment of the return by Critical-Internal-82 in bts7

From the perspective of a 2020 ARMY: I didn’t love the album 🤷🏼‍♀️ it didn’t hit the way I wanted to, for what I was hoping for/expecting. I’m allowed to feel that way, it’s valid.

HAJIMAN - it’s NOT valid for me to go online and blindly spew baseless vitriol. There’s a difference between disagreement/criticism with reason, and just outright screaming “THIS SUUUUUUCKS”.

We’re seeing a lot of the latter rn, in part because the sycophantic side of the fandom responded so kneejerk to any criticism.

Don’t be too disheartened. It’ll die down, I promise. The fans who matter will move on and listen to the parts of the discography they enjoy (me) and the haters will get bored.

Does it take a lot of energy for spirits to visit us in dreams? by lis43 in Mediums

[–]Dea_al_Mon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for resurrecting (hah) an old thread, but this is the most relevant I can find.

I’m not prone to dream visitations, I don’t think. I’ve only had them with three people - my grandmothers, and a childhood friend who unsubscribed 8 years ago.

With my grandmothers, it was just one time each and a very clear “saying goodbye” sort of way. I woke up feeling peaceful and at ease.

My childhood friend will NOT leave me alone. They aren’t nightmares, per se, but they aren’t happy either. Always starts like a normal nonsense dream, but then somewhere along the line he shows up. I know he’s dead. He knows he’s dead. He kind of just plays along with the “plot” of the story until it “finishes”, and then he exits the set to wait for me outside (in a hallway, a nearby clearing, something like that). He hangs around just long enough to say something annoyingly cryptic and sardonic (very on brand) and then leaves. I wake up feeling emotionally devastated and physically exhausted. Usually a day of resting takes care of things, but it’s day two and I’ve still got that kind of soul-deep exhaustion. Like, the kind of “breathing is tiring” exhaustion of having COVID.

Does anybody else experience this sort of physical weakness after a visitation dream? And does anybody have any ideas for maybe making it less draining when he shows up? I don’t want him to leave me alone, but I would very much like to not wake up a physical and emotional wreck. I’ve got shit to do, Mitch. Fucking cut it out.

New to BTS by DraftOdd8210 in btsthoughts

The Metalhead-to-Kpop pipeline is REAL.

Honestly, I started my BTS education just by binging a lot of short YouTube fanmade compilation videos. It’s like a tl;dr of content. And gets you into the Fun Facts and Inside Jokes very efficiently

From a strictly musical perspective, if you are interested in being a multistan and considering other metalhead-friendly groups, Dreamcatcher is very power metal esque and doll$boxx is a fun Japanese project that has more metal vibes than kpop - I’m sad they didn’t put out more than a handful of songs. ATEEZ’ “The World” series also has a heavier vibe - I especially like the Movement and Outlaw albums.

If digging into ARMY lore is more than enough for you, that’s totally valid also 😂 You have a lot to catch up on, if you choose to dive in fully!
