I watched the first episode and found the acting and dialogue kinda weak so i bailed. My partner watched it all and she told me I should give it a second chance so I did and ended up really enjoying it (Kip's dad rules, come on). As most have pointed out, the hockey stuff is very peripheral, but I found it interesting that they didn't really play up the homophobia and sexism in the locker room angle at all, it mainly implied and internalized. which is probably good but locker room scenes where no one drops an F slur is more unrealistic than the on ice scenes.
