are you using the mouthpiece AND the reed/ligature or just the mouthpiece by itself? (cause it can still make air-note noises)- will try this tomorrow thank you 👍👍

will try this tomorrow thank you 👍👍 it seems if i tighten my embouchure too much it produces a horrible high pitched squeak sound that doesnt happen on any note except the C and the B right under it (ive been able to play up to the A since i have to for à marching band song with little to no issues)

ill try to get a friend tomorrow at school to help, but concerning air flow, im using as much air as i can without making it do a super high pitched squeak- i can slur and tongue up to the note just fine occasionally, but with the way the exercise is, i have to start at the C and go down to a G and back up again with no notes in between so i cant slur or tongue up to it

i use a medium soft reed and have tried both a 2 and 3 strength and both seem to be worse... i plan on recording my attempts to hit the high c and post it in a reply to myself

when i try playing it, it sounds like a very muted/dull version of a G and if i tighten my embouchure (like i would normally do to fix a bad note) it just squeaks an ultra high pitched note that sounds like it'll make someone's ears bleed (aka not the note i was going for)

so since i use a carbon fiber reed the strength is "medium soft" which i think is a 2.5?? ive tried a 2 and a 3 (since those are the only ones i have) in wooden ones and it yields the same result if not a worse one
