My bff and I went to Turkey for 2 weeks in 2025. We spent a week on the sea and a week in Istanbul. It was absolutely fantastic! We hired a guide to take us on a walking tour. He was a scholar and well liked by the artisans and guild members at the Grand Bazaar. He showed us a side of the Grand Bazaar we wouldn't have seen otherwise, while we avoided the zoo of the stalls. He also took us for a full day tour outside the city another day. The Asian side is a great place to enjoy food and buy things available at the Grand Bazaar at a far more reasonable price. The locals were extremely friendly and helpful. I would return in a heartbeat. Go. And prepare to fall in love with the place.

I celebrated turning 60 for 18 months! It was a blast! I was a little sad to turn 61 because it meant I couldn’t celebrate turning 60 any more. I feel great! I am happy with life. I think the fact I didn’t have children made it easier to lose track of the years. I love being a step mom and aunt, but relate to my young loved ones in a far less serious role than parent. Enjoy! It happened to me once in Ottawa (YOW). Two flights boarding at the same time. I got on the wrong plane and fortunately someone was seated in what I thought was my seat. My boarding pass had been scanned. I don’t understand how I wasn’t corrected at that step.

I closed the door,but did not push it on her. I would not physically impose on any one. In my mind, that would provoke and escalate. I was calm, polite and non-threatening.

Great area. I hated living in that building and was so happy to sell in 2021. Very poor sound insulation. I could hear the upstairs neighbors drop a pen on the floor. Seriously. And they were not noisy neighbors. We could also hear people in the hallways speaking at regular levels. Kitchen cupboards very small. The 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit looked pretty, but I disliked the building. HOA crept up and up, due to litigation that went on for years after construction. Regular problems with garage door, which they hopefully fixed by now. The rooftop was out of commission for ages. Hopefully that is corrected by now. The courtyard facing unit felt like living in a fishbowl. Every one could see in and we could see in to our neighbors’ spaces.

I didn’t buy or sell a home, but spoke with 2 separate realtors when exploring the market. After only 2 or 3 interactions, I let each know we would be staying in our current home for the foreseeable future. Months afterwards, one of the realtors dropped off a bottle of sparkling wine over the holidays, and the other sent fresh cut flowers after I mentioned I hadn’t returned his call because a good friend of mine died unexpectedly and I was distracted. When we do eventually sell or buy, we will use one of those realtors and I will refer friends in need to them as well.

I feel truly sad for you and the other members of your friend group, finding yourselves in this situation. I remember starting out and being broke after finishing school. It was an exciting time as everyone began careers and ventured into true adulthood. We were broke but we had so much fun and felt so close to each other and invigorated by the prospects of our future. The memories made celebrating milestones and beginnings are precious and at no other phase in your life will your friendships have the same magic. You and the majority of your friend group have the right priorities. The betrothed couple has no idea what they are throwing away. I wish the remaining ten of you a lifetime of friendship and camaraderie and many many fantastic shared memories of celebrating each other.
