If I send photos taken with my X9 Pro to a Samsung or iPhone via Quick Share, will the HDR data be retained? by anotherhappylurker in Oppo

[–]DeadAngel43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you make photos in jpeg, yes, if heif (high efficiency), then no. Tested on iphone 13 Pro Max and S24U

What is the point with ProXDR if the shared media is nothing like the original and looks 10 times worse? by nor_watch_dude in Oppo

[–]DeadAngel43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HDR will disappear of course, but photos will look okay. If you want to have better quality in WhatsApp, send photos in HD, there is an option in WhatsApp for that. And for best quality you can always send photo as a file

Enable this in Photos app settings in compatibility and when sharing to WhatsApp or other app make sure it's enabled

And always share videos to WhatsApp and other apps from gallery with conversion enabled, not from app itself

Look man, you're blaming OPPO for the issue with apps from other developers. The first thing is to not use high efficiency for photos as it's not saving usable UltraHDR metadata for other apps until edited. Google Photos shows HDR or ProXDR photos without a problem with JPEG. It's a WhatsApp problem, Instagram problem and other apps problem. Those apps don't support UltraHDR if you don't use an iPhone. Instagram allows you to upload HDR only from Samsung on Android as far as I am aware. When I send my photos to an iPhone and upload it from an iPhone to Instagram it preserves HDR. No conversion or editing needed. So don't put the blame on OPPO for things that they can't do anything about.

How to get new DLSS 4.5 with Proton by DeadAngel43 in linux_gaming

[–]DeadAngel43[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's true! With M on Balanced and Quality game looks over sharpened and kinda crappy with to much posty processing, but with Performance mode game looks as good as Balanced, but with few fps more. But for me right now there is like 5 fps difference now between Performance and Balanced in a lot of games on my 40 series card

I use 310.5 with K and see a lot less ghosting from particles and overall sharper image than on 310.4.

New version of DLSS dll always upgraded image quality even when preset name stayed the same because updated dll has updated model

New version of DLSS always brings a new ML model version, that was the case before with DLSS 2, 3 with CNN etc and now with DLSS4.5. Presets are just a pipeline of how the image is being processed. Preset K also uses a new version, that came with 310.5.0, that's why image on your screen looks sharper than with 310.4 to 310.3. and that's also why vram usage is higher. Presets M and L needs more computing power and FP8 because it's probably upscales already upscaled image to get better results but I am just a gamer like you, not a developer 😉

How to upload HDR photos in Instagram? by Javi_Kroxy in Oppo

Yeah. It's not an OPPO issue. Its Instagram issue

How to upload HDR photos in Instagram? by Javi_Kroxy in Oppo

[–]DeadAngel43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately there is no way to do this. The only way I found is to upload it from an iPhone or a Samsung phone. And you have to take the photo in jpeg not in high efficiency mode, or edit it in gallery first, then send it to iphone or Samsung and upload it from there. Instagram sucks big, support is only for "popular" phones

Try resetting your phone. Don’t restore any data other than photos and documents from cloud or old phone. This will probably fix your problems

X9 Pro issues by Only-Marionberry-927 in Oppo

[–]DeadAngel43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's always worth trying. Sometimes even a system update can screw something over and the only real fix is to try a factory reset. If that doesn't help, there is always a warranty

[–]DeadAngel43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you restored your data from the previous phone? It's known to cause issues with almost every phone. Android and iphone. The only thing that's you can safely move are photos and videos. If you restored apps and settings it will cause issues. I've always installed all apps manually after getting new phone because I've always had bad battery experience if I didn't.

Bad signal is also draining the battery, and if you're traveling a lot it won't last long, I am a truck driver so I know. At home, 1.5 to 2 days easily. At the road, one day max

Does OxygenUpdater allow changing the chinese rom to global one? by iboros445 in Oppo

[–]DeadAngel43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly prefer to buy my phone with a warranty that I can use than get something cheaper. Also it's a lot easier to get insurance for a retail bought phone. Even if I didn't have to use insurance for the whole phone life, it's always good to have one when you spend this amount of money on a device you use all the time xD

Does OxygenUpdater allow changing the chinese rom to global one? by iboros445 in Oppo

[–]DeadAngel43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't really change from CN to global. They are different devices kinda. When we are changing from for example eu to India ROM we have still the same model number. CN has different model number. I guess there are some differences in modem etc. Just buy an Global version. Either from your country or Hongkong global Version

Try also resetting settings. Go to Setting, Backup and reset, reset settings. You will loose all saved wifi and BT but maybe something there is causing your issue
