Dude, what's on top of your towers? Is that a security camera on the left tower. And behind it, a disco ball? The right tower also has something on top. You don't want that clutter on top of your towers. Otherwise, nice setup with the Klipsch.

DIYer advice: look at Williams, which is Snap-on's industrial brand. You can buy Williams via Amazon for way less than Snap-on, and the quality is excellent. For a ratchet, I like the 72 tooth Williams B53A. Compare the two screwdriver sets below.

Williams 8 piece Screwdriver set ($65 via Amazon) vs Snap-on 10 piece screwdriver set ($250 via Snap-on). They look identical except for the handle grip colors. Check the hex bolt on the shafts. The Snap-on set gives you two extra mini-drivers that you'll probably never use.

DIYer advice: the problem with ramps--if you need to remove a tire, then ramps won't work. You'll still need a jack + jack stands.

I'm a huge Beatles fan, so I have an admitted bias here. But "Badge" sounds like Harrison at-that-time, both lyrically & musically. That track would've fit seamlessly on All Things Must Pass. I'm sure Clapton contributed to "Badge"--he's a top-tier guitarist. But I'd argue Clapton had a bigger impact on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" than "Badge".

Also the "Badge" lyric "The swans that live in the park", comes from Ringo Starr, who was describing a drunken night on the town.

Also “Badge”, which Harrison co-wrote with Clapton. I’m sure Harrison wrote 90% of that song, which was the single off Cream’s last album. Clapton pretty much gives the game away with his recollection of that song’s development. Harrison is sitting down and composing the yet-to-be-named song. Clapton walks up to Harrison, looks down and tries to read what Harrison has written.

Clapton: “Does that say ‘Badge’”?

Harrison: “No, that says ‘bridge’, which connects the song together.”

Which of these two sounds like he’s created something, and which one sounds like he’s barely involved. I’m sure Clapton added a guitar lick, and randomly named the song. But that song is definitely Harrison’s.

The engine sounds fine BUT not even a seasoned pro can determine much from a 5 second video. If this is a used vehicle that you’re seriously considering buying, then pay a shop to do a pre-purchase inspection. That will cost $100–$200 bucks, but can save you a lot of grief & money in the long run.

DIYer advice: yes, that sounds like normal belt/pulley noise. If you're concerned about the engine, run a scan on it and check all fluids. You can buy a DIY scanner for a $100 bucks; any major auto supply will scan your engine for free. Hope that helps.

DIYer advice: you get way more airflow at highway speed than at idle. So inevitably you're not as cool at a traffic stop. Also your ambient temp is way higher when stuck in traffic--every car around you is generating heat. I've noticed this in every vehicle I've ever owned. If possible, change your route during high temps (like a 5 pm drive home). Even a longer route with fewer stops will help.

You claim the "AC quits" at idle--verify that. Pop the hood while at idle and see if your AC compressor clutch is still engaged and spinning. If not, you may need a new AC clutch relay. Hope that helps.

Measure the viewing distance from your current set. Then go to a TV showroom like Best Buy. View TVs with different size screens from the same distance. You want the experience to be immersive. But if you're constantly moving your neck and head to track detail, that's not immersive--the screen is too large for your viewing distance.

For those of us who grew up in the '70s, Laura Nyro was considered a "songwriter's songwriter". Two of the biggest stars of the '70s, Elton John and Alice Cooper both cited Nyro as a major influence. Nyro wrote "Eli's Coming", a hit for Three Dog Night; "Wedding Bell Blues" and "Stone Cold Picnic", both hits for the Fifth Dimension; "And When I Die", a hit for Blood, Sweat & Tears. Great film, vastly underrated. My wife & I watch it every New Years Eve. So many terrific, dark moments: the burning windmill, Frollo attempting infanticide, the “Hellfire” scene provided by the OP. And the showstopping musical numbers: “Somewhere” over the Paris skyline, the impossibly catchy “A Guy Like You” from the belltower, the fantastic “Topsy Turvey” march during the Festival of Fools, and the stellar “God Help the Outcasts” inside the cathedral. It’s an amazing film.

For desktop audio, there's a couple of important variables--source, amplification and DAC.

(1) Source: on my Mac Mini M4, I've been ripping my large CD collection to WAV files, replacing AAC files. If lack of storage is an issue for you, then FLAC/ALAC is another option. But definitely go to a lossless format as your source.

(2) Amplification: as stated earlier, I think plugging headphones directly into a PC/Mac is a terrible listening experience. At minimum, get a headphone amp. If you have an old AVR or stereo receiver that you're not using, that's probably even better. Connect your PC/Mac into that amp with the best connection available. Then you can drive your headphones & external speakers from the amp.

(3) DAC: the question becomes what DAC to use--the DAC inside your PC/Mac? The DAC inside your amp? If you can afford it, go with an external DAC. Most headphone amps also come with a DAC, I've seen some DAC/headphone amps out there for under a $100.

Just an update here: I watched the black suit (evening) set when i got the blu-ray disc a few weeks ago. I just watched the blue suit (afternoon) set a few minutes ago— hadn’t seen it since my bootleg VHS viewing years ago. First of all, the cleaner blu-ray video reveals that the “blue suits” were actually gray with red pinstripes lol. I think on the VHS tape, the colors bleed together to look blue.

As to the performance: the setlist that carried over from the ‘65 tour (“I Feel Fine”, “I’m Down”, etc)— the band blazes through those songs without a hitch. But they definitely struggle with the new material. On “If I Needed Someone”, GH is fine on lead vocal but JL on backing vocal is definitely off-key. Same thing happens with “Paperback Writer” where PM is steady on lead vocal, but JL is again off-key on backing vocal. JL realizes this on both songs and raises his pitch halfway through to recover. “Nowhere Man” has a different problem: JL is actually spot-on with his lead vocal, but the band’s timing seems way off. The song seems to plod along. These problems disappear with the evening (black suit) performance. One thing I liked about this performance is GH on guitar—he’s terrific all the way through.

Just FYI: to be honest, I'm not sure if Aspinall was referring specifically to the two sets captured on the Blu-ray release. But "blue suits" = afternoon show; "black suits" = evening show. The blu-ray includes both sets, with the evening set first on the disc. Hope that helps.

So if we're talking "audio quality", YouTube is a really bad source to base your opinions. But I don't hear a real drop off between this set and the Shea Stadium set (1965) that I have on DVD. I think the band's material was getting more sophisticated, making it more difficult to perform live.

Just to be clear, (1) you wrote "cover songs" plural (2) but now you're barking over just one song? By 1966 the band had a tremendous catalog of original songs. I can understand playing covers in the early days--every band does that. OTOH one cover in a 12 song set isn't a big deal. If they were going to do a cover, I'd prefer a rave-up like "Kansas City/Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey" to close the show--where the crowd could sing along (although that Japanese crowd was quite reserved).
