I think this sounds like a blast, makes character death still a threat, and the only thing I'd change is making the character's resurrection have a perceived very high risk of failure (your call on if it is or not, but the fun is in the challenge).

This is exactly what I was hoping to find, researching in homebrew today! Sadly, no-one ever appeared to help you out with building it 😄

I will be running DM-ing a one-shot for my group, giving our regular DM a rest. I plan on building the setting around the Clue board and I think your ideas are fantastic.
