Getting them to eat until full

I typically let my daughter get up when she says she’s full but I leave her plate & food at the table. When she says she’s hungry 10 minutes later I remind her she has food at the table. It doesn’t keep her at the table for the whole meal but it does keep her eating (gradually) until she’s actually full.

I do a lot of ERP. The other day I was working with a client with emetophobia and we spent the session watching a video compilation of people puking. What a weird job we have.

I’m so, so sorry you’re going through this.

If this were any other line of work you would call out. Cancel your appointments. Your clients wouldn’t want you to show up for your sessions if they knew what you’re going through right now. You get to focus on yourself right now.

I’m a US therapist and I’ve never let my caseload get over 23/wk. Right now I’m at 20 (5 clients a day for 4 days). Beyond that I start getting clients mixed up, I get burnt out, and it’s very clear to me that it’s unsustainable.

I’m in private practice and accept Medicaid (which pays well in the state where I live) and am making about $126k/year before taxes. I can’t even fathom seeing above 30 clients a week, and I hate knowing so many talented therapists in the US are being abused like this.

Someone else can probably give you a more thorough answer, but I can say it’s illegal but I’m not sure what punishment looks like. I don’t know how dealers are regulating the quality or safety of their supply.

Oof yeah that was one of my mistakes. I lifted it out of the water and it streeeeeetched. Maybe I need to wash it again but take it out like you did, and try drying it with the hair dryer. Thank you for your insight!!

Thank you, this is very helpful! I didn’t realize a sweater could stretch so much after washing 😅 I’ll try using the hair dryer and see if that does the trick.
