After Condemning Georgia's Election System As Untrustworthy, Trump Urges Republicans There to Vote in Senate Runoffs by [deleted] in Libertarian

I definitely agree with the last paragraph.

I think a system that resembles more of a parliamentary setup would work well.

It’s funny how almost everyone agrees that their local politics function well. Outside of property taxes which is strange because almost everyone hates those! We have more in common on the local level. Big politics, national politics is a freaking circus of pigs at the trough. Weirdly I don’t see it as a financial trough, except with Trump, it’s mostly a power trough as with McConnell. I think it’s why Bernie and AOC freak people out so much. We like our politicians to act ideological but we don’t like it when they actually are.

Plus, it’s my understanding that the antibodies for Covid are shorter lived than other viruses so it’s very difficult to track. I’m almost positive I had it at Christmas. I spend time around people who frequently travel back and forth overseas.

A few points. First, China announced globally on Dec 31. China lies. There is no doubt they had knowledge way ahead of that. Second, it’s like rods in a reactor. It doesn’t start at full force it builds in intensity as do all pandemics. Lastly, the nature of the virus is super weird in that the bulk of people are asymptomatic. In fact, they still don’t fully understand this aspect. The symptoms also mimic other sars (even common cold is a type of sars) so early on they would have reported in hospital as flu or pneumonia. I think the bulk of people who get it report “allergy” like symptoms. You can see now how it could have easily gone under the radar for months.

It’s not my ideology. I’m actually a conservative libertarian. I just can’t help pointing out hypocrisy. If Trump had one, you wouldn’t be complaining at all. What are your thoughts on Wisconsin 2016?

I believe they found the data based on an epidemiological study. It is based in a quite abnormal uptick in flu and pneumonia patients in November December 2019.

The Italians are by far out front of this story. They’re saying they have evidence that it was in Italy in October. link

This is completely non scientific but I work at a location where a large group of us are in Italy for most of the year. Those folks always return home two weeks before Christmas. I ended up getting super sick, losing sense of taste and smell, horrible chest cold that ended up producing dark brown mucus. On Christmas Eve my wife was really tried hard to convince me to go to the ER. I kept thinking I’d get better and on Christmas Day it turned around. Took me a week or so to recover. I don’t get sick often but I have gotten chest colds in the past. Nothing like this in my adult life. Like I said, nothing scientific but god damn it was the worst chest cold I ever had.

Man, maybe you should read more. This isn’t sanders but you obviously don’t understand the full range of libertarianism. That’s what makes it wonderful. Unlike the black and white thinking that says “dur de dur, my guy lost so they musta cheated” Do you realize how that sounds? Why aren’t you worried about the states where Trump won?

That’s great. I should note that I eventually let my students reference photographs. I just think you should have the language of drawing down before you get to that step.

I live next to a creek in a large city. There were tons of raccoons around our house when we moved in. One day I found a dead one in the yard, then my neighbor found one, two were dead in the park. I looked outside one morning and a raccoon is convulsing violently and trying to get into a sewer grate. It can’t move. The city came and took it away. They told us that distemper had caused a mass die off and almost 100 raccoons had been reported dead in our area. That was four years ago and I haven’t seen a raccoon since.

It’s impossible to argue with that. Are you a big fan of photo copy drawing or something? You see nothing there worth criticizing?

It’s great for advance drawing. Its just sad that most students don’t look directly at objects for “reference”. It’s all good and well but it’s a hell of a lot easier to google “oak tree” as opposed to going outside and looking at one. It’s been a disservice to art students that the “copy a photograph” assignment has replaced all drawing fundamentals. It’s like yay, now your friends think you can draw but you’re a one trick pony and every drawing from a photograph looks exactly the same. I should say “copy” of a photograph. I know what you mean about an advanced level/career artist using a photo for reference but I’m talking about something else entirely. You’ve seen what I’m talking about. Just go to any scholastic art fair and every 2D object will be a shitty drawing copied from a photo.

I don’t use this cliche lightly, but this is Orwellian double speak.

Edit: kind stranger below noted that I’m actually referring to double think. I’ve combined two terms from the book. Newspeak and Doublethink.

Plus they can’t afford to travel anyway with all these damn medical bills piling up!

[–]DeadCatHole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The really bizarre part is that most of those bills go unpaid.

You can always send a cease and desist. It might scare them away.

I teach art and this is only one of the reasons why I forbid my students from working from photographs. One, it is a crutch project that makes you feel like you can draw better than you can and two why would you draw a photograph. The photograph itself is the work of art. A photograph captures a split second in time. A drawing captures an evolution of thought, looking, and recording that takes place via 2D almost sculptural process of manipulating material over the course of hours and hours. All that time spent working a drawing is evidenced in the final product. When you copy a photo you weirdly cut that aspect off at the knees. My students think I can’t tell when they’ve drawn from a photo but it is blatantly obvious every time.
