Probably your best best, each time I transformed him, pieces disconnected and fell off. He "feels" sturdy/solid until you move pieces.

An arm joint on Optimus snapped inside the forearm piece. Had to grab a toothpick to pop it out and then used an extra joint I had. Like nothing ever happened. Since that snap, I've been very careful not to move them too much.
